This is a Heavy NATO watch strap offered in 3-ring PVD Black for secure attachment to the wrist. Our Heavy NATO straps are made with a durable nylon material giving a tough look, but not at the expense of comfort. Strap thickness is approximately 1.5mm. Length is approximately 270mm. Although these are much more thick than our Classic NATO straps, they still maintain the comfortable feeling expected with a NATO strap. Not only is this constructed with heat-sealed ends, but also is made with stitched lining for an extra layer of protection. This is a perfect companion product for the larger watch. If you are looking at this listing then you have an idea of what a Nato strap is and how it works. I won't go into those details, but I instead want to speak about what makes this a good choice if you are looking for one.
Firstly, this is the one piece style Nato without the underslung extra piece that some other Natos have. I like this as it makes the watch case sit a little bit closer to the wrist for a lower profile look. The material is very heavy duty, but is quite comfortable to wear all day long. You can tell that the Nylon will wear well and last a long time.
Secondly, the buckles are very nice feeling stainless steel that has been PVD coated. That means there is a layer of plastic basically covering the buckles and they look sharp. They are sewn in well and feel like they will certainly stand the test of time.
Thirdly, all of the adjustment holes and the end of the strap have been burned to a smooth finish so that there is no fraying. I cannot express enough the importance of doing this as Nylon will fray badly if this isn't done correctly.
Overall I would say that if you are in the market for a one-piece nato that is high quality and just looks tough then look no further!
Though this strap is a bit shorter than most "Zulu" straps, the construction seems to be pretty tough with thick metal rings/buckle in PVD black steel and reinforced stitching at the rings which is better than ultrasonic welding.
We'll see how it lasts over the long haul but I think it'll hold up well...
I had to use a BBQ meat fork to force the holes large enough for the buckle prong to go into them. Then, I realized the hole cut into the buckle itself was so small the buckle prong wouldn't move.
It does look great.
