This story keep you guessing until the last chapter. An appropriate and satisfying ending ties up the loose ends.
I am sure e you will enjoy this as much as I did.
“A crime of passion?” Sarah asked as Gracie peeled off her jacket. “Maybe you should be watching something else.”
“Like what? Teen Mom or Here Comes Honey Boo Boo or maybe one of those real housewives shows? That’s what Scottie likes. She watches them with her mom.”
"Okay, rewind. Forget I said that.”
The story also makes a great argument for protective phone cases and not disabling gps functions.
I will re-read this story and always look forward to other works by this author.
Sarah returns to her hometown with the intention of rebuilding her family's decaying mansion above the Columbia River. She has been plagued by childhood memories her whole life. There are secrets to keep, and her life is in turmoil. She has her two young daughters with her. The younger girl is obsessed with the resident ghosts, while her older sister is enmeshed in teenage angst. Not only that, but girls have been disappearing from the surrounding area, and the property inspector turns out to be Sarah's high school sweetheart. There are enough twists and turns to keep the reader engaged until the last page. A good, quick, enjoyable read.
