I guess what I liked the most was how everything came together at the end. There were many times throughout my reading that I thought nothing would make sense. I was presented with unrelated events, subplots, and backstories that left me questioning the narration. But when chapter seven came through (no spoilers), my mind clicked in so many ways.
I may seem cruel, but I found myself laughing at horrible situations, only because I’ve been through them. I never expected anyone to put it on paper. The author explains different situations where the term ‘closet friend’ fit into an event. Even the villain at some point, you kind of understand why he’s doing this.
I felt troubled when I thought we would get a typical Hollywood ending where the main characters happen to be there at the right time and at the right place. Every single clue was there from the beginning. Nothing is way over the top.
The only flaw I can think of is Snake (Loui Denver). Sure, we get his backstory, but at the end, we don’t get to know what’s next for him. He just… walks away into the distance. If there’s ever a character who needs more development, it’s him. But anyway, that’s my take on it.
Oh and for those of you who didn’t noticed… Emma has a secret, I’m guessing book 2 will developpe that peculiar scene with her mother.
