Just what is clotted cream? You make clotted cream by heating and cooling milk, allowing the cream to rise in “clots,” and then skimming the clots from the top. (This is sometime called Devonshire cream, as well.) The result is a thick yellowish spread that tastes to me like whipped butter, but sweeter and not salty.

Let me tell you, clotted cream is delicious, perfectly made to put on biscuits and (especially) scones. There is nothing as delicious as a scone, straight out of the oven, and spread with clotted cream! Find out what the British have known for generations – buy this delicious clotted cream!!

I was eager to try this clotted cream after reading about it in books and magazines (silly perhaps, but gourmet curiosity on my part). I enjoyed the creamy taste, but was a bit disappointed in the flavor - just wasn't unusual or special like I imagined it would be.

I'm sure if you already know clotted cream, then you won't be disappointed. And the jar of clotted cream is handy for storing until you're ready to use it, unlike a fresh cream. I gave it a 4, rather than 5 because it wasn't quite what I expected.

Have to agree with the other reviewers...sounds terrible - tastes amazing. It has a lighter texture than butter. It also reminds me a little of creme fraiche. I love it on English Muffins with Lemon Curd. Those 3 items make a killer (and different) little gift basket too.

I was very disappointed both in the taste and the shape of the jar. The directions said it was best if the cream was stored in the refrigerator even if unopened. Doing that made butter. Unsalted sweet cream butter. But even at room temperature it did not taste like cream. The bottle was not as pictured it was more tapered to a small opening at the top making it very difficult to get out of the jar.

This is the easy way to have clotted cream. If you actually make it, it takes forever. With that said I must say it is not cheap. The taste is terrific and it does melt in your mouth. Would I buy it again? Oh yeah!

Delicious! Do not expect this to taste like whipped cream. It is not super sweet. This goes well on scones, crumpets, and English muffins. Also delicious with jam on toast.

This item was terrible! The product was very warm when it arrived, it was Not shipped with ice packs or anything to help keep it cold. When I opened the jar it looked and smelled spoiled. But I thought id give it a try and it was terrible. I love clotted cream and this was NOTHING compared to the real thing. Do not buy this item! A complete waste if money for something that is not editable.
