Book hangover alert!!!
She's a pain slut, as in pain helps her "let it out" much like cutting does for come abused children. If she can't chase pain, sex is a good backup plan...lots of dirty, nasty sex. You have to love a clubwhore who lives up to her reputation until she meets Bryce, the club's enforcer.
Bryce has his "damage." But he decides to help Delilah using unconventional methods . In the process they fall in love and he drums into her head that she is worthy. But she's still not out of the woods yet. She tests his boundaries, tries to manipulate outcomes so that she ends up spanked. Lots of good spanking scenes.
In essence, you have a heroine who has a lot of unfounded self-hatred, a man with a savior complex as well as being a commitment phobe
As for Clubwhore, words fail me. I can't do it justice without disclosing spoilers, and I never include spoilers in my reviews.
Suffice it to say that Delilah, the lead character, is a well developed, extremely likeable broken character whose story is told. Her love interest is Bryce, who is helping Delilah overcome her demons while dealing with demons of his own.
While I wouldn't characterize Clubwhore as a dark romance, it is not light and fluffy either. It is deep. Very deep. But even at its most difficult points, Clubwhore is, at its heart, a feel good story. Delilah is just so damned loveable, as is Bryce, that you can just feel their strength and know they're going to meet their challenges head on.
I give Clubwhore my highest recommendation.
The book itself was good too.
The 2 main characters are Delilah and Bryce. Delilah is a pain addict that pretty much has turned off all of her feelings. Bryce is a macho biker who says he's not dominate but I beg to differ.
That characters were very likeable. She was a bit crazy and he was very mysterious.
The only reason for the 4 star rating was because the book slowed down about 35% in. I had to push through but I'm glad I did because the ending was great! Delilah is so lucky to have Bryce.
But this book surprised me greatly. Especially the main character. The book is very well written and the characters as well but the heroine is really the show stopper here and I connected with her on a level that was a bit uncomfortable.
It does get a bit repetitive towards the end, but overall it was a really good read and pretty refreshing in this genre.
Delilah is a clubwhore and she is proud of it! She has a messed up past that makes her think she isn't worth it and needs pain. She's real and sassy. I really loved her.
Bryce is the SA of the club. He's sexy, broody and all alpha. I loved him. I loved how he helped Delilah with her issues and how possessive he was of her. Sigh... I need my own Bryce!
I loved that this was an MC book but kind of a little BDSM! I can't wait to read more from this author and series!
