Bought this for my daughter as she is reading the entire series. Made it through book 6 and library didn't have #7. She picked it up and blasted right through it.

I remember reading these when I was young and now my granddaughter enjoys them too. I would say they are for ages 9-12 depending on reading skill level. I think there are around 50 so your young reader won't run out.

My cousin's daughter just celebrated her 9th birthday, and I plan on giving her this book, along with some other Nancy Drew books, for Christmas. I gave her volumes 1 through 6 for her birthday, and her mom tells me that she is just blazing through each book, because she loves them so much.
It warmed my heart to give her these books, as I remember reading them when I was her age. I used to borrow one book a week from the local public library in the 1970s. Nancy Drew was always a great read.
I think that we establish a great connection with our children when we share with them something that we also loved as kids. It's a joy for all involved.
In my opinion, you can't go wrong. These books are classics, and by encouraging young ones to read them, you help the children in your life to foster a great habit of reading--one that remains with them through their entire life. I think books of this nature also help to make them better critical thinkers and better writers.

Not one of the best.

I'm used to Nancy Drew stories being quite far fetched but this one pushed the limit. I also disagree with a notion frequently suggested in this story that nice-looking people cannot be criminals. In spite of this I did enjoy the story and it was great to read th introduction of Ned Nickerson into Nancy's life. As an older reader I return to Nancy Drew books whenever I feel like I'm not reading enough and each one reminds me why I enjoy a good book.

Good story, not too far out on a limb, although Nancy does seem to know just the right people. Would read it again.

A good read but the book feels cheap
Reviewed in India on February 22, 2021Verified Purchase
The books looks and feels like a cheap version of the the original, but one can buy these just for the joy of reading. Nancy Drew series is good for tweens and is an interesting ready. I would recommend this to all pre teens.
