The ones that didn't detect the camping officers. I speed past, to test and assume the risk involved. It worked flawlessly.
Before buying it, there was a lot of people saying false alarms or something. I wouldn't be quick to think that, because the x/k detector often
goes off. To my knowledge infrared also gives such bands. So if you ever notice it beeping near security cameras, then its working.
As well as newer car models and trucks that can detect other vehicles around them, it doesn't work by magic (i'm pretty sure)
All those sensors and lasers coming off, radio frequencies, this and that.
So realistically, if you do buy this. Watch for KA bands, and slow down. If you can't see them, doesn't mean they aren't there. You're probably not looking hard enough.
Out of the box you'll want to program it not to alarm on the X band or it will be just alarming 100% of the time, and cops mostly don't even use this band any more. It shouldn't even be configured as "on" by default, and I have no idea why this unit has this turned on.
The LED readout is so dim (while turned up on high) you will never be able to see it if the sun is out.
The alarm noise from the unit is so quiet (while turned up on high) you will not be able to hear it if your car has a decent stereo and you use it.
The velcro thing that is included with the unit doesn't stick to plastic for more than a few weeks. People who own a dash made of leather or whatever would probably be buying a more expensive radar detector.
Pros: It does seem to detect all the bands and laser it claims. It may have saved me from a ticket one time.
Conclusion: It is a decent detector, however it does not have an adequate display, audio warning, or mechanism to keep it on your dashboard. I would only recommend this unit if the price point intersects with your ability to deal with the shortcomings.
Additionally, like Ben Nguyen said in his review, basically all the false alarms are X/K band, so turn those off and only pay attention to Ka band.
The only thing that I don't like about it is what they give you to mount it to your windshield; they give you these sticky velcro pieces to stick onto the detector and the suction cups, which has fallen off several times while I'm driving. This is a very minor complaint, just something I thought I would point out.
Overall, this detector is very good and does a very good job for the price. Would definitely recommend getting it if you are on the fence about it.
