Aux power cable was only 6 feet long. This means that you have to have that ugly cable run directly to your AUX power port. Will be contacting Cobra about a longer AUX cord, but according to the web site they don't have one. IMO, this is a major let down, because I don't want to look at cords just hanging there.
Night mode. This camera is NOT night vision. You can control the brightness via menus, but there needs to be some outside lighting to get the results you see on the youtube videos. On streets with out street lights, it will be very dark even if the brightness setting is on high. Even on 1080p 30 FPS, the picture is grainy at best because this isn't a night vision camera. If any part of your headlight hits someones license plate, then all you get is a reflected ball of light on the recording, and if you happen to be chasing someone down, you have to be right up on them to get a clear view of the plate. Otherwise you have to wait to get to a stop light to get a good recording of the plate.
No Camera adjustments, all adjustments are made with the suction mount. would have been so much better if the camera was adjustable independent of the mount.
GPS recording - The time and date stamp auto adjust once the power is turned on, which is very cool, so no set up there, however, the reason I'm listing it as a Con is that it doesn't record your speed. Now some people may see this as a good thing, but IMO if you are using this to prove what happened during an accident, then the more information you have the better.
LCD run off mode - You can hit the down arrow to turn off the Screen so it isn't glaring you in the face at night, but for some reason, it randomly turns back on. On a short 10 minute drive, I had to turn the screen off a whooping 7 times. Off means off, not come back on randomly. I have discovered while testing some of the settings that having the motion detection set to on, means that this is what causes the device to randomly come on while in drive mode. I can't stress how dumb this is. How can a setting for motion detection while parked be applied to a car in motion? Hello Cobra programmers - get a clue. If you don't want your screen to come on randomly while driving, you must turn the motion detection off, which means you parking lot recording feature is now gone too. DUMB.
Suction Cup mount - After a month of use, the suction cup mount has dropped from the glass twice. I haven't determined if there is a small air leak around the cup or if it is heat related, but it has released while driving so be prepared for this surprise when it happens.
Customer Care - I spent the entire day on hold waiting for an associate to pick up my call. I called through Skype, and could let it just sit on hold until answered, but to wait 6+ hours and hear their automated message of large call volume every 10 seconds really sucks, and they never answered the call, and when 5:30 hit, I got the automated message of our office is now closed, please call back during normal business operations. This is the absolute worse type of customer service there is. This will drop my overall review of this product back down to 1 from 3. Customer Service is a huge part of buying a product.
Honestly, Didn't get to it, the unit once powered on was frozen on test menu that no amount of pressing any menu or any of the buttons would change from that screen. The only button that worked on the unit at all was the Power On/Off button. Not even the clock worked. it was permanently stuck on 01:04:03 and I had it plugged in for over 30 minutes.

Installation is extremely basic. Remove the locking nut on the mount, insert the camera (make sure the holes line up), and put the screw and nut back on snug. Once you have picked out a place to mount it using the suction cup, tighten up the mount joints, and you are good to go. then just plug in the power port (just hanging there, which I hate) and you are ready.
Experience - Ok, So the customer service Cobra has SUCKS, the system does have some really good specs, and for the Price (Costco Price and return policy) it makes this unit a good buy. The manual says that the Mini UBS port will "Charge" the unit. This got me thinking and testing. First I plugged the supplied USB cable into a USB plug in the car and plugged it into the camera. True, it charges the unit, BUT doesn't power it. All the other Cobra dashcams are powered via the mini USB port, so I tried a 12V to 5V AUX USB plug and plugged the supplied USB cable into the camera, and BOOM it powered the unit. Full recording and full functionality. I ordered a 15 foot USB A to Mini B charger cable from Amazon, and ran that cable in the car "Hiding" the cables and now I'm very happy with the cords being hidden. However the fact remains that Since Cobra Customer Service is non-existent, and I had to buy a 3rd party device to make this all work means that while the Specs of the unit are a 4 Star, the overall customer experience puts this unit as a whole to a 1 star.
*** UPDATE ***
Just about a year since I got this unit, and a new issue has cropped up within the past 2 weeks. For some unknown reason, the unit is saying that the SD card is FULL. I've formatted it multiple times, and when I put it back in with a fresh format, the first thing it reports is that the SD card is full. There doesn't seem to be a work around that I have found for this new issue. If I find one, I'll post it.
Honestly I'll be getting a new one from Costco because the system specs for this product makes giving this product another chance. If this product works as advertised, it'll be a great small profile camera system for your car but only if you can get an extension to hide the wires. Otherwise, it will be an okay device that will look cheap having exposed wire and begging someone to break into your car to steal it. I don't believe in product bashing, because that doesn't provide a good resource for people looking to buy a product. I have installed a Blackvue 2 Channel system in my other car (and it is awesome) so you can read my review on that device as well, but didn't want to spend that much coin on a leased car dash cam.
Honestly, with a working unit, this device will get the job done, but don't expect that HD look for night time driving. Day time driving isn't too bad, and when it switches files there seems to be some hitching when the new file is started. So long as there is no file corruption on the microSD card, then you should be able to prove your case in an accident. I recommend formatting the MicroSD card at least once a month to avoid any possible file corruption.
I still stand by my original recommendation of "I'll simply say beware of people's hype on this product" because while this unit does do what it claims, it isn't a slam dunk purchase either especially for anything over $100. I'm bumped my rating to 3 Stars for one day, but now reducing it to 1 star because of my Customer Service experience, please refer to Cons Section for this. My 3rd Party fix for this unit means I'm going to keep it, but honestly buyer beware.
However as time passed it began to have MASSIVE ISSUES.
It just beeps randomly now until reset. It does not record more than 2-3 mins on each file then the video dies and you just get audio, which is useless in a wreck.
Then as time went on the menus glitched out displaying garbage.
Now the video is upside down and the menus are so hosed you can't correct it.
The screen just glitches out when shutting down. it no longer shuts down correctly, the screen just flickers until the battery dies.
Had to replace the unit with a new brand this was GARBAGE.
Look elsewhere if you need a camera for more than 6 months..
If you want to use this camera just to record other people doing stupid stuff in front of you than this is a good camera. However if you want to use this for helping determine fault if you are involved in an accident you may be disappointed. Our family was.
But you need to get it with a warranty because it can have some problems.
