The new Cobra Floating Walkie Talkies are the perfect radio for your next hike, camping trip or other outdoor adventure. The CXT 1035R FLT two-way radios come pre-charged and ready to use out of the box and have a max performance range of 37 miles. The radios' compact design and rubberized grip make them easy to carry in wet and dusty environments and even if you do drop them in water, their floating & waterproof (IPX7 standard) design make them ready for anything you or mother nature can throw at them. The Cobra CXT 1035R FLT radios also keep you prepared when you're out and about. With a build-in NOAA Weather & Emergency Radio receiver, you will always be prepared for storms and emergencies and get all government operated weather channel alerts and warnings. These alerts are automatically sent to the radio based on your location, so you don't have to remember to change channels or look for the closet weather stations. There is also an LED flashlight in the bottom of the radio should you need some additional light on your trip. The Cobra Floating Walkie Talkies also feature the patented Rewind-Say-Again technology that allows you to replay the last 20 seconds on any missed transmission. These radios come with a dual-port charger, but can also be powered up with regular alkaline batteries should you need some additional power on your outing. Stay in touch and be prepared with the Cobra CXT 1035R FLT Floating Walkie Talkies.

For me, the features on these radios are great, pretty much had what I was looking for. I thought the 20 second rewind was a nice feature and it worked as advertised. A minor nit was the "roger beep". I usually use it, but on these radios found the somewhat longer two-tone beep annoying. I was used to the very short MT350 "chirp".
The deal breaker for me was a recent 11 hour drive with three vehicles, each with a walkie talkie. The Cobra CXT 1035R radios performed poorly. The sound level coming through to the others when transmitting from the Cobra was too low. It would probably be fine for quiet area, camping, etc, but we found it too low in a vehicle.
On the receiving side, the speaker sounded tinny and hard to hear clearly, somewhat like one of the old small AM radios. The MT350 had clearer sound and the volume could be turned up more than on the CXT 1035R. We wondered if there was a waterproof membrane covering the speakers that affected the sound level/quality.
I didn't test the range, as the vehicles were never more than about 1/4 or 1/2 mile apart. I wouldn't guess these are any worse or better than all the other radios in their price range. The listed ranges the manufacturers give are ridiculous anyway.
I would have loved to keep the radios, but due to the sound quality, I returned them to Amazon. Now the search is back on.... for a truly waterproof walkie talkie that (hopefully) can be charged via USB.
Unhappy with Cobra's customer service, and this point, equally unhappy with their product.
In follow up, and to be fair and truthful, Cobra, albeit after a long time, remedied the situation with new radios, that have great volume and sound quality - exactly what I was expecting from Cobra at the onset. Thank you.
