I loved them in the '80s. They are still as good as I remember. I wasn't really aware of how popular they were in Europe until I read the included history in this CD booklet. It's sad that they only did okay in their own country, the United States; they deserved much better. If I had to choose one group from the '80s that was my overall favorite, this group would be it.

Ich möchte hier ausschließlich über meine Meinung zur Soundqualität berichten. Über die Titel braucht man nichts zu schreiben, entweder man kennt sie oder nicht. Ich kann auch nicht wissen, was anderen gefällt! Falls diese CD überhaupt remastered wurde, dann wurden die Titel tot remastered. Dies ist bei "When your heart is weak" am besten zu hören. Hier wurde die ganze Seele aus dem Lied herausgerissen.
Ob es nun die faszinierende Stimme von Peter Kingsbery ist oder seine unverkennbaren Bass-Gitarrenläufe sind, alles wurde zerstört!
Es fehlen sämtliche Ober- und Untertöne, alles hört sich an wie aus dem Küchenradio. Und das bei einer Anlage im Wert von über 10.000 Euro.
Ich beziehe mich dabei im Vergleich zu der 1992 erschienenen "Best of Cock Robin", die ich als Erstausgabe habe und die bei Amazon für 4,75
Euro erhältlich ist. Auf dieser Ausgabe klingt alles so, wie es sein soll und man hat auch die größten Erfolge auf einer Scheibe.
Bei einem guten Remastering steht einfach Rhino drauf und dann klingt es auch gut. So wie bei "Bee Gees, Their Greatest Hits, The Record".
Bei so einer CD kann man nichts falsch machen. Da könnten sich viele Labels eine dicke Scheibe davon abschneiden und Ihre Sache richtig machen! Denn wer schon einmal Musik live gehört hat, weiß wie es klingen soll und worüber ich rede.
