It is extremely frustrating to try to compare products when there isn't enough basic information about the products, like SIZE or WEIGHT or typical expanded quantity. I only was able to figure out that these are 300g bricks because of the review. Different bricks are compacted somewhat more or less so one 300g brick might produce more expanded product than another. This isn't just a complaint about this specific product but several of the coir product listings. I ended up going to a local hydroponics store to purchase one of these products for about half the price on Amazon! I'm also shocked that the bigger garden stores and big box stores aren't yet carrying this stuff instead of or in addition to the traditional peat moss.

If you intend, like I did, to order and get 20 - 300 gram bricks for about $50, good luck getting them to ship it right. I ordered it based of the detailed description which states that the case consists of 20 bricks. But I got only 1 brick, I called and the first rep said they could see what I could see and would resend the order. Guess what...I got 1 more brick, not a whole case of them. After 30 minutes or more going over this again with another rep, they told me I would have to return it until the description is fixed. They could not figure out if they shipped 18 more bricks we would be good, I gave up and I am returning them, I should have just gone to the store. Becareful if you order this item...

Nowhere is the weight of each brick written. Instead it says "pack of 3" and weight is "1 lb" and shipping weight is "3 lbs." Hmmm...3 bricks at a pound each would be 3 lbs, right? Oh, no. Each one is 300 grams, that is 900 grams (maybe 2 lbs) and the cardboard box is very light. Not the deal I thought it was.

This is BY FAR the most expensive (and deceptive), worst value coir/coco peat brick product I've seen. The bricks are extremely light (less than 1lb total), barely compressed and can easily be broken up by hand without soaking. This means that any reasonable amount of water normally used to soak comparable compressed coir brick products is actually WAY too much water for these to absorb (a quart is far too much) resulting in a sloppy mess. The manufacturer seems to be taking advantage of the unavoidable issue of decompressed coir products becoming harder to ship than they were compressed. The issue is compounded when, depending on how much water was used, a possibly longer than 30 day drying time becomes necessary before returning (hmmm) or else the customer has to deal with the added expense and unusual problem of suitably packaging wet slop for return shipment. Even if the right amount of water is used for these bricks (a cup or two at most) you only end up with 0.62 cubic feet total. Buy ANYTHING else for a better deal.

This product is specifically packaged to fill Nancy Jean's Stacking Gardens, also from Garden Supply. I've used it successfully in a competitive stacking planter. By weight, this item seemed to be the best value, and it should fill the Nancy Jean product, but mine are a bit larger and I've ordered another set.

Was pretty happy with the quality of thr product as far as it not having too much dirt/salt/sand, but was very disappointed at how little the coco expanded. I expected it to be enough to fill a few small lots, but no such luck.
