Who Doesn't Want to Float Around on a Roach?

Ok, so my husband has a thing for roaches and yes, we live in Florida so we have experienced the live ones. We call him Steve and he is comfortable to float around on, although he can get a little hot in the sun. My husband's goal, to have Google photograph our house with "Steve" floating in the pool. (yeah, he's a bit strange but I love him!) He has been floating around now for over a month and the quality is holding. We're happy with the purchase.

We named him Hal, like WALL-E's little friend/pet. I bought this as a joke for our pool since it was funny and relatively inexpensive. I mean who buys a roach raft, right? Little did I know I would actually love this float! It's the perfect size for me to lay on. I'm an average size and height female, 5'4 and I can lay perfectly on it. It can be a little tough to get on from in the pool but it's fine if I just get on from the side or steps and can just lounge on it for a long time.
We had a family gathering and all the kiddos loved it but he deflated. We aren't sure if he just needs air or has a hole or what yet, but we hope to revive him! The vinyl seems a little thin and don't expect it to have the longevity of some other floats with thicker vinyl in the Florida sun, but I feel we already got our money's worth and if not fixable I might buy it again.

lol i bought this for a school project (a filming of a music video for a song we wrote about The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka if you’re interested) and while we never actually swam with it, we did inflate it and use it with water. My only complaint is that while the legs and antennae did inflate, they weren’t full or strong enough to be supported. That’s to be expected with such thin pieces of an inflatable though. other than that is was big enough for a person to float on and it worked well for our project! (RIP Gregor though)

The first time I used it, it lost air quickly. The die-cut legs had a small snip out of one leg because the cut was off-center. The vendor suggested I try the patch included with the raft. It didn't work. I tried other glues and tapes (even that "light-bonding" glue) but nothing would seal the small hole (as it's on a curved part, tape won't cover it and glue doesn't seem to bond the vinyl).

So I put it away for the winter and tried it again when summer began. No luck sealing the leak. Too long to ask for a replacement and a very cool float sur to upset people while allowing one to float in comfort. Good product but FU'd by China and karma (because I got the bad one... or are there more out there?).

I bought this item back a few years back and it was @#@$% $30! It was a prank to blow up and have at a garden party but it only lasted a very short time. Very poor quality as most pool floaty schtuff is so if you consider it a one time fun purchase then it is OK but definitely not worth it in the long run. I am thinking of maybe filling it with foam so that it stays inflated permanently as it is a startling shape that makes people scream on occasion. “Made in China” can mean extreme high quality like iPhones or schnitzel like this so of course beware - it’s all due to the selling company that contracts out to Chinese manufacturing and how they perceive quality and what they think of their customers (in this case we are pretty much insects in their biz model - suck out their money and splat them on the linoleum floor.). Cheers!

I about went crazy with anticipation waiting for her birthday, a full month after I bought it. It blew up quickly and easily and it is the height of an adult -- perfect! The morning of my daughter's birthday, I snuck into her kitchen and put it above her cabinets so it looked like it was crawling around like any normal roach. I wasn't there when she woke up and walked into her kitchen but I heard her reaction was absolutely priceless. It's been a few weeks since then and I noticed that the legs are deflating, despite not being moved from its spot on the wall, so I suspect it wouldn't survive much rough play in a pool. Still worth every penny for the fun we had!!!

I'm disappointed and so is my daughter. It seems to be well made of thick vinyl. We love the looks we get with a floating "6 ft roach" in our pool.
BUT after a short week it has a split at one of the center legs. I'll try repairing but where it is split at holds little hope of repair. Lot of money for something lasting a week. In Mr. Roach's defense, the kids here are 11 and 12 so they could have pulled on the leg causing the tear.

I was so excited to buy this for my fiance for summer pool fun as he's an Exterminator. After blowing it up within two days it deflated. Filled it again.. same thing. The antennas on the float NEVER stayed filled. Too bad it's a really great idea. Also.. don't leave in your pool in the beating sun. The color faded so quickly within a matter of a couple of months.
