Our computers, pens & pencils, paper, and Alexa tower have to fit on a tiny desk. Beneath the desk is the rats nest of cords! I’m using this Grid to corral the transformers, cords, and even the power strip. (I used 3M picture hangers to mount it). So much neater!

I can say this is the best thing I have ever bought. I bought this in 2016, thinking it would last maybe a few years. I have been using it nearly daily in a variety of bags. It has traveled the world with me, been with me through the best and worst times of my life, and been one of the most reliable items I have ever owned. None of the straps have ever broken, and I abuse this as someone who has to carry many tiny things due to medical issues. I also tell almost everyone I meet about it. Don't wait! Buy this! After six years, I can still say it is doing well. This might be the next nokia!

I had a great time arranging and rearranging all of my cables, plugs, etc. on the GRID-IT! ... and finally realized that I should have gotten a smaller size :-D For some reason, I imagined it being a few inches smaller in each direction (length/width), which is probably my own fault for not actually measuring :-/ However, I have plenty of family members who probably carry even more "tech stuff" than I do, so I'm sure it'll find a home with one of them. Meanwhile, I'm ordering the smaller size, which will better fit my needs.

I'd been struggling with the number of chargers, cables, etc. I carry in my computer/messenger bag. I was using an old zippered pouch, but this lead to two problems:

1. A jumble and tangle of cables and charges - if I just needed a cable, have to dig for the right one. In other words, annoying to get anything out without unpacking the whole thing.
2. A big bulge in my messenger back - since everything settles in the pouch, it results in a wide bag that is more annoying to deal with on airplanes, etc. (and also less comfortable to carry).

After spending way too much time researching (for such an inexpensive item), I ordered this one. (I probably could have gone one size larger since I'm carrying around a 15" MacBook Pro, but thought I'd start with this one.)

I commonly carry:

MacBook charger.
4 port USB charger and its power cable.
2 iOS Lightning Cables
1 Mini-USB charging cable
Zagg 2 port batter pack
Jockery battery pack
SanDisk Wireless Connect USB drive

Can't have too much power on long flights when the plane doesn't have outlets - for shorter trips, I usually leave some of this at home - but may not anymore.

All of these items fit neatly into the Grid-It and I can grab items from the top row (e.g., MacBook charger) without even removing it from my bag. On a recent long stay in the Detroit airport, I just hooked up my iPhone to the Jockery charger while it was still in the Grid-It and nestled in my bag.

This has improved both of the issues I listed above - my bag is thinner and easier to handle and now it's very quick to grab the thing I need without digging through a pouch or untangling cables.

The only negatives I could list (which are not worth deducting a star):

-The pouch on the back seems relatively useless to me. Maybe I could store some wipes for my screens, a cloth, etc. I don't feel it's large enough to stuff paper into but I guess it would work for receipts and such. However, it doesn't take away from the product - just doesn't seem that useful to me.

-It is a bit heavy even with nothing attached to it. However, it feels like the weight really comes from all the heavy duty elastic, so I would not trade durability for a little less weight.

I'm really happy with the purchase.

I'll admit it...I'm a gadget freak. I love gadgets, cables, chargers, etc...and I like taking them with me on the go. I commute via train in Chicago and every day I've got 2 phones, 1 tablet a laptop and all of their assorted accessories with me in my messenger bag. In the past, I would have all of the cables bundled with velcro ties and just tossed in my bag along with wall chargers, external battery packs and such. The Grid-It hasn't been a game-changer, but it does help keep me sort of organized. Here's the rundown:

Pros:
-if used correctly, does help keep me from losing small items like flash drives in the depths of my bag
-the rubberized elastic bands seem to be holding up well. They stretch enough to get larger items squeezed under but snap back into their original shape when emptied.
-I haven't really ever used the zippered pocket on the back or the loop for hanging it, but they both seem pretty durable
-the internal "backing board" is pretty durable and it seems like it will hold up well in the long run.

Cons:
-the configuration of the weave of straps seems pretty random. It makes finding the "perfect spot" for things somewhat difficult. Not really a deal-killer, but it offends my obsessive-compulsive side a tiny bit. For instance, I would like all of my cables to be in the same area and more or less aligned, but due to the placement of the "small" loops, it's not really possible.
-Due to the somewhat random configuration, in those instances where I take almost everything out, it's difficult to get everything back where it was without having taken a photo of it fully loaded (ok, maybe that's just me, but I still think it's a valid concern).

I get that the random setup could help in some cases, but for me, a more ordered system might work better. Sill, it warrants 4 stars based on it's well-executed construction.

Like it a lot, very very useful. Practical, light, strong.
If I could want for an additional feature, it would be a cover/zip around piece of material (like there is a zip pocket on the back) to cover the items you have behind the elastic straps. I get this is a minimal item but to 'hide' the messy look of cables and bits and pieces would be a nice option.
The reason I say this is because while I move around, I would take this out of my bag and put on top of a desk where I'm working for example - I wouldn't want to display this to others or see it myself so I find myself taking it our of my bag to get the thing I need, then I put it back inside my bag.

I have had my eyes on one for quite some time as they are mentioned a lot in tech videos on YouTube. I thought they looked great and would be a great solution for me to organise my tech when swapping out between my work rucksack and our rucksack for family outings.

Out of the box my first thought was that it is well made and of good quality. It's also rather heavy. I would say it is too heavy and it adds too much weight considering its purpose.

My kindle fits happily in the zip pocket on the back (I purchased a medium) and I could fit all the stuff I wanted through the bands on the front - it looked great!

My main problem with it (apart from the weight) is that there is no protection for your items once loaded in your bag. I guess that's obvious considering the design but in reality - placing the other items I need in my backpack along with it just does not work. A way round this is by placing the gridit in the pocket at the back which is normally reserved for a laptop. If you have more compartments in your bag then I am sure you will be fine (the medium gridit is roughly a4 in size)

I do think it's a great item but unfortunately it just doesn't work for me. I guess I didn't really think the purchase through and instead got caught up in how tech savvy I would be for purchasing it!

I am now trying to figure out what zip up tech travel case is best for me.

I really like this - I hate rooting about in my bag trying to find a miniature bottle of hand-cream or roll of rennies etc. There are lots of pockets in my backpack but they're always crammed with packs of tissues, entry badges, pens, wet-wipes, spectacle-cleaners etc. This is perfect for organising all the small and oddly-shaped bits and pieces in a really quick-reference sort of way. My only quibble is that it's relatively heavy so it does add not-insignificant weight to your bag. Considering that my job is quite mobile and I routinely carry a laptop, cable, external power supply, external HD, torch, portable electrical strip, water bottle, penknife, umbrella, jumper - you get the idea. The extra weight is a slight issue. Having said that, I'm still using it because of the joy of being able to put your hand on the thing you want right away.

A friend suggested this as a useful thing to carry on a recent trip to Disney World. It fits well into a rucksack or satchel and I was able to add a portable battery and set of cables for charging everything. By having things neatly arranged all the cables were easily accessed and none got damaged.

I really liked the way I could pull the whole thing out easily. When necessary I was able to connect the charging cables to the battery and phone and add the phone to the organiser so I could drop it into my bag while it got some extra juice.

I now keep a set of cables on the cocoon all the time, making packing for trips that bit easier. No more forgotten chargers!
