One of the best book I read in many years for the perspective of the team and the code structure and management. Yegor is very open with his opinion, and it forces you to start to think if that is right or not. Every single page of the book has a lot of value. This is a short book, you can read it on one or two days, but since there are so much wisdom that you stop reading and start thinking for day or two or do more research.
I'm planning to reread this book again.
One thing I wish this book has kindle version.
I'm looking forward for second part of the book.

This was a surprise, I expected a more technical book instead I got almost like a novel that convey the same amount information I wanted but in very enjoyable way. I devoured the book in a couple of days. Five stars for the content and style, four stars because the story doesn't end... I need to wait for the second volume.

I respect the work of the author and I wanted to know more about his to organize a software project and I'm not disappointed.

If you are an Agile practitioner be ready to be shocked and keep an open mind ("the beginner mind")

I got a chance review this book and I loved it. This book has a philosophical nature but it is presented as a story. All the recommendations given in the book are valuable. I have seen the situations mentioned in the book happening in real life. Although the book can be read and understood by anyone, this is a book for someone working in/with an IT organization. Whether you are a developer, architect, tester, analyst or a manager you would find practical advises that can be applied in your professional life. In my opinion books of a philosophical nature can be classified into two practical and feel good. This one is definitely a practical guide.
So I recommend this book for someone with at least 6 months of IT experience.

I had the pleasure to be one of the reviewers of the book before it was published. The author explains most of the problems that a developer, a manager, or a tech lead might encounter or create based on their lack of knowledge, stubbornness, or just lack of the will to be positive towards the job they have.
I believe this is a good book, for everybody. For a person who is starting their career, this book gives a good vision.
For a mid level developer, it might address/reveal some of the questions they have, and for an expert developer, it might be good to know how the other people are doing it. Maybe it is time to change for good.

I think it's a good read. I found it very relatable for developers and testers, portraying the industry's best and worst, in a variety of topics from Hiring, Team structures and hierarchies, Project architecture, Quality, Testing. It's not perfect, there are parts that I didn't like and I felt a bit bored, but the way all the inner workings of the industry was captured is very enjoyable. It sets a mood and a story very similar to what we've all been through, or are currently at, in different points in our career in software business.

Even for people who are not fond of the author, I still think for them it's a good read: it's THAT relatable.
I do agree that the price is a bit prohibitive, but for me personally it was worth it.

What I really like about the book is that there is always an assertion that I couldn't agree with at first and inner resistance arose, but then in the explanations and many examples I noticed how something changed in me and at the end I agreed and started to think about it further. The resistance disappeared. Very recommendable book. Great! I enjoyed reading it very much. :)
