Nice choice if you enjoy the first person shooter games. Very similar to
Unreal or Quake. The multiplayer game is wonderfull and, very easy to play. I recommend you this game !!!

Slightly better than the last game, but not by much

The Good: Top notch production values, infrastructure, better control scheme, everything is updated from the first

The Bad: Everything else is pretty bad and bland, including the level design, weapon design, and AI, infrastructure is a bore, stupid story, Konami please just give up on this...

I remember being suckered into buying Coded Arms back when the first one came out. I regretted it and was probably the worst buy I've ever made. While Contagion updates everything of the first game and is a big improvement it doesn't do anything new and doesn't do what isn't new very well.

Contagion's new features are a story that is somewhat boring and lame. A new "hacking" system where you can hack doors by matching numbers and this on its own is annoying and lame. While you're trying to hack a turret you're vulnerable to fire so there really isn't a point of the hacking to have the turret help you. The upgrade system is broken since you can only upgrade to a certain point until you finish enough levels. You always end up with surplus upgrade points and nothing to upgrade.

The AI is handicapped; while it's better than before it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. Another thing is the level design is so bland like the first. That is probably the only thing that is the same. Another factor here is there is going to be ANOTHER Coded Arms on the PS3 later and we'll just get a next-gen bore fest. The game now has infrastructure but for only 4 players and is pretty boring.

The only REALLY good thing here are the production values. Contagion sports some of the best graphics and audio in any PSP game but all this is wasted on the poor gameplay. Despite its numerous flaws Contagion is still fun and is really worth a play through while you wait for the fall PSP blockbusters to show up. If you hated the first one you probably won't like this one but play it anyone just for the fun.

A first person shooter on the PSP. Can it be done?

Well I bought this game a little while ago and what did I think well.... It was pretty good. This game shows that a first person shooter can exist on the PSP and it works pretty damn well. Now granted I have not played the first one but this one has little to nothing to do with the first one. From my knowledge in the first game there is little to no plot and you just play as a silent protagonist. In the sequal you play as Jacob Grant who I think is a solider, is put into a computer combat simuelator called A.I.D.A (which is in the first game) and all is well at first but then hell starts breaking lose as a group of hackers called Maelstorm are creating a virus and it is enffecting everything. Now unlike the first game there are: full motion video cutscenes, dialouge,voice acting,upgradeable weapons and armor and there is a plot. Now this is a good game and it has its flaws, for one like the first game it has poor charcter devlopment granted it is better than the first but its not like the first F.E.A.R game. Also there aren't many bosses sure you fight a gate Gurdian (I haven't finished the game yet and I don't want to spoil it). But all in all if you want a first person shooter on the go check it out. Now I am wondering if Konami is planing on make a sequal so comment if you know

I've never played this because its not out yet, but the first coded arms was the best first person shooter for the psp.i loved it the levels were never the same (being randomized)tons of weapons and amazing graphics(for the psp)it could be the psp's best game i'd love to own this. But,alas my disk reader stopped working and i have to buy a new psp
