There are a few different gameplay modes.
One that I favor the most is the Young Driver Test under the Career mode.
This mode gives you a chance to learn a little about one of the vehicles, and dynamics of the game. You get to drive around one of the best designed race tracks in the world that looks like a dream.
"Its like a sample of where they might/could be taking this game in the future."
The only downside to this game I can tell you and strictly from my own learning prospective, is in the Young Driver Test mode, you can not change tires, or cars and use other pit options. You are only given the Ferrari car, which for me is fine, because it is a favorite of mine, and I do wish someday to learn how to join and work with the Scuderia team.
In the Young Driver Test mode you can learn things as little from shifting points in a formula one drive system, to aerodynamics.
Multiplayer on this game is worth the wait. You can feel the anticipation before a race since, you are taking your skills against people from around the world, and that is a learning experience in its own. This game will let you know how little you know about racing, from any point of view.
Overall this game is beautiful, graphically. It could use some editing on the in car or cockpit view but then again this is a video game, use it to work towards a real life goal someday.
The audio is awesome! From simply starting the game up. One of the key reasons for me purchasing this game was sound, because to me the sound of one of these cars is artistic.
I am looking forward to owning the F1 2013, in hopes I can change cars, and tires, or use full pit stop abilities in a driver test like scenario.
I get adequate framerates with all the eye-candy turned off on my ultrabook, but honestly, I'm concentrating too hard to admire the scenery anyway.
The game itself is quite fun; the super-hardcore sim tinkerer part of me wished there were more options for mechanical tweaking of the car's setup, but as a long-time fan of Papyrus racing games, I have nothing to complain about regarding the driving dynamics--it's real ENOUGH for me, but also accessible enough to keep me trying to improve.
The one gripe I do have, though, is with the sometimes arbitrary feel of the driving penalties... which I guess some would argue makes it all the more realistic ;-)
