I use this to help suppress my appetite and on that front it works best out of what I've tried, which was multiple other products and fibers. On a day where finding something to eat would be at the forefront of my mind, with this I really only notice if I'm truly hungry.

I will say that this helps with the cravings, but if you're like me, you also need to fix bad habits. What that means is if you grab an ice cream at 4PM every day, this won't stop you from doing so because it's a bad habit. If you work to stop the habit, this will help you skip out on the snacking later in the evening.

this is great stuff. I read it helps with cortisol levels and has other major added benefits as opposed to roasted coffee. I've been taking a few a day and so far so good. My cognitive functions seem to be better and I am more relaxed. I've read it helps with some weight loss but it has been too early to tell if that is the case, but I can't see why not as my appetite has slowed down in a short amount of time. I also like life extension blueberry extract in addition to this supplement to help my brain.

I bought this product on 05/10/12 and here it is 06/02/12 and I have lost 7.3 pounds and I ate 3 slices a pizza and a soda for dinner last night and I was surprised this morning when I got on the scale and saw that I had still lost weight. Like one of the other reviewers this product does a great job of controlling my craving for sugar. I've been drinking my coffee black and my tea w/o any sweetener at all. I used to have to have a Snickers everyday. Not anymore.

I do exercise. Most days I go for a brisk walk for half an hour and then ride my stationary bike for another half hour, but I do this mostly to try to control high blood pressure. Cardio is supposed to help.

I believe this product works well, but you have to take it. I believe I could have lost much more weight in so little time if I had taken it consistently, but some days I skipped just b/c I don't like to swallow pills of any kind even though these are about average size. But 7.3 pounds in less than a month is great even though I didn't take it everyday. I'm going to take it everyday for the month of June and see what my results are.

Read The Fine Print

In checking around I found a company(Kalyx.com) selling Green coffee bean extract in bulk; 55lbs for 3k for example. In reading their product description I came across this phrase:

"In most cases, ratio 4:1, 5:1, 10:1 herbal extracts are not as potent as standardized % herbal extracts, although, since concentrated, ratio extracts are usually more potent than whole herb. "

So it appears to me some companies are selling consumers standardized extracts and some companies are selling ratio extracts which are less potent. That might explain variations of efficacy reported.

However I found another variable after buying my first bottle of CoffeeGenic, where you live might matter. I started taking the CoffeeGenic in Minneapolis where I had occasion to be for about 6 weeks, and it worked noticeably with appetite suppression and reduced peripheral neuropathy in my feet. After returning home to Mississippi, I find it to be less effective than it was in Minneapolis so it is my opinion there are other nutritional variables at work too. I know it is subjective but that has been my experience.

Some Help, But Not A Miracle Cure

Life Extension is a brand that I trust, but the hype on Green Coffee Bean Extract may be a little over the top. I've read many different studies and seen articles and TV about how this product is an incredible aid to weight loss. My experiment was to follow the same 1200 calorie a day diet that I've been on for 30 days, and compare the weight loss with coffee extract to without. The difference turned out to be about a pound, which isn't a lot for a 30 day period, but I have to admit to seeing a small improvement using this product. If you do not expect a miracle, every little bit helps!

This product tends to work really well for some people and not at all for others. I have to say, this is the only brand that works. The problem is after a while it stops so you have to take breaks from it. I typically take it for a week or two and then take two weeks off because I have been taking it for a long time now, I have figured out that is what works for me. It helps to lower blood pressure for some people. The key to this product working is that you cannot take it when you have any milk protein in your stomach. Milk protein can be hidden in surprising products so you may not know you have consumed it, and it will bind with this product (or other medications and supplements) and cause it to not have the intended effect. For me, it curbs my appetite hugely allowing me to make good food choices. I love the non-jittery energy I get from it but I am not a regular caffeine user so that may be why I can feel it. I would take this every day of my life if the effects didn't wear off and I needed to have a break from it. In any case it is well worth the gamble if you want to give it a try, just take it on an empty stomach without any milk protein (google milk protein, there a re a lot of different names for it like casein, etc.) I take 2 in the morning and sometimes 1 in the afternoon.

I went through 2 bottles with absolutely no weight loss, I am a very active, eat healthy and needed to lose an extra 8 lbs that I put on due to a slowing metabolism given my age. This product simply did not deliver. I realize that people out there have different bodies that respond differently to certain products; I tried several bands of that Green Coffee Extract and unfortunately, none delivered. It's up to you to decide if you want to give it a try or save your bucks!
