This photo was taken after several months of use! It changes color the more you use it but the flavor stays wonderful!
I'm reading a few other reviews on here, and wanted to speak to them: first, the glass ring is, well, glass. Nice aesthetic touch, but could definitely break. I'm being carful with it for sure. Second, this doesn't make a weak batch of cold brew. If it did, it's because the user either didn't (1) bloom the coffee, (2) let it steep long enough, or (3) used too much water and not enough coffee.
In conclusion, compared to a bigger and bulkier cold brew apparatus, this thing is super simple, taking up far less space in the cabinet. Cleanup is a snap, coffee is delicious. Highly recommend.
I cold brew my coffee and this has made ALL the difference in the world. I dont get grounds or even like thick coffee sludge at the bottom of my brew. Just pure ice brewed coffee.
I went through a wide array of products before i stumbled upon this, and i wish i found it sooner. The fabric is easy to wash and dry and makes it a breeze to use. There is no draining, you just slide the sleeve out of the jar (i squeeze to remove excess liquid) and empty the grounds in the trash. Easy peasy!
Makes an INCREDIBLE jar of concentrated coffee, but be careful of the ring. It's glass and will break if dropped on a tile floor or granite counter top. I learned this the hard way, but didn't hesitate to buy another one. This thing rocks.
My technique: I place about 10z (300g) of coarsely ground coffee first in a mesh bag, and then place the bag in a Toddy tub (without its own filter). I fill the tub up with filtered water, and then 24 hours later I squeeze the liquid out of the mesh bag, and then empty the contents of the tub through this CoffeeSock into a large bowl. I then turn rinse the CoffeeSock out (inside out), and run the liquid through the sock a 2nd time into the storage carafe.
The result: wonderfully filtered, incredibly tasty cold brew concentrate. To drink it, I dilute with one part milk and one part ice.
Cleanup is also very simple. I just rinse it out (inside out) with a tiny amount of hand soap on my hands. Then, rinse and squeeze a few times, and hang it up to dry.
