Put a few of these in my ruck on a 2 day kayak/camping river trip. Well it poured the 2nd day. I never wear rain gear since the Army but had them for my wife and daughter. The rain got so intense I was like well I'm gonna try these out. Other then my feet...I was bone dry loading all our gear on the yaks to leave. I'm not a fan of ponchos but these were awesome and cheap. I bought 4 more to keep in my IFAK, my truck, and my wife's vehicle. I think they would be strong enough for a litter to carry an injured person and also could be cut for a make shift shelter. They dont have grommets like a GI poncho but if there isnt to much tension you could use them as a rain fly or water catch. In a pinch there great. Compared to a standard poncho which is more to carry you can't beat it in an emergency.

Not durable. Not breathable. Imagine a very thin plastic, produce bag.

Just in case?

You are taking the time to prepare for rain. You are buying a poncho to put in your car. Or tucked in your backpack. Keep 1 in your desk at the office. Have 1 in your locker.

Why buy this? Price. It's less than a Washington. A few Shekels.

Now ask yourself why you are not preparing for that rain with a better product. Yes. These are junk, but better than nothing. But you could have something better. The mil-spec ripstop poncho and poncho liner combo is superior. There are ponchos as thick as fisherman's raincoats. Frog Toggs makes a good poncho.

The best thing to do is have better equipment. This is the least expensive thing you can do.

This is a great buy for travel, to keep in your purse, car, boat or where you might need it when you are caught out in the rain. It’s small so will fit inside a purse, luggage or backpack and not take up much space. I bought mine for travel. Going to the UK and it rains a lot there and sometimes it’s much easier to wear this instead of holding an umbrella.

Always like to keep a couple poncho’s in the cars just in case of an emergency. These aren’t the fanciest or most durable but they suit the purpose much better than a garbage bag with cut-outs for the head and arms. And, I believe that they’re as good or better than the ones that you’d pay five times as much for at an amusement park.

I was far from home with a broken umbrella in my bag when it started raining hard. It was a downpour. I had recently bought a few of these and thrown one in my bag and it came in sooo handy. It kept me pretty dry (except for my legs, which the poncho does not cover) when I had nothing else. It's a thin material, though, and it won't last repeated use, but I would suggest everyone keep one in their bag for emergencies.

We tossed it out after using it for 2 days as it was impossible to fold back up into the mini zip up plastic bag it came in.
