Opened the package and the thing was cracked everywhere but still able to function. They put it in a small paper utility envelope with barely any padding. Next, most coins don't slide very well and you have tilt the thing to make it go into the right hole. Next, if you lift the top too much and turn the top it will mix the bottom coins and jam up. Next, the counter would count double sometimes. Next the counter would jam so I just took it off and used it without the counter. Overall this thing is a piece of **** and I don't recommend anyone waste their money on it.

This is really exactly what I was looking for - a coin sorter that counts as you insert coins. I am disappointed that you have to insert one coin at a time rather than handfuls, and coins go in the wrong tube probably 10% of the time. Pennies are especially bad at going in the right slot.

But if you're careful, you don't insert coins too fast, and the sorter is on a very sturdy and level surface, it will usually work nicely.

Cylinders are labeled by coin, ie. quarters, dime, etc. put in the dime it may fall to the penny, or the quarter. Then try to get the coins to the right cylinder and get them out, dont try the coin rolls either they dont fit and again trying to get them out the counter at the top doesnt count properly. I am going to give them as gag gifts.

I got this money sorter / counter and was a little disappointed to find out that it's not working well.
The main problem is that sometimes it doesn't "read" the coins correctly so it adds a different amount (it happend a lot while inserting $20 worth in coins) and because it doesn't read it correctly, it also sorts the coins to the wrong place.
My advice, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

When a money machine can not recognize a penny from a nickle or a dime (and with this item it is hit or miss), it fails its primary function and is therefore... WORTHLESS. Perhaps if it had been made with a greater care to its specifications, it might have worked with consistency, but this thing was not so well made and amply earns the designation of Worthless Junk. Save your money - skip this so-called Money Machine.

I bought 3 of these for my grand-children. On all 3 the coins dont slide smoothly and the pennies go into the nickle stack and the nickles into the quarter stack sometimes, about 30% of the time. I would not recommend this item.

I purchased 5 of these for gifts for children. They DO NOT sort the coins into their proper designated slots. They require a special screwdriver which is hard to find to get the batteries in and they do not a have reset button. Overall an inferior and frustrating product. Had 3 disappointed kids on X-mas and am not giving the 2 that I have left as gifts. I purchased these months ago....so I can not return w/o losing $. DO NOT BUY!

Bought it to have a place to sort and keep my change, the counter was a bouns.
# stars are for most of the time it sorts properly but there are times the my change ends up in the wrong stack and the counter isn't reliable (sometime is doesn't count a coin). Also the other problem is that when you rotate the bottom half to access the change some coins can end up getting under the plastic dividers, then that messes up other stacks and can jam it all up.
When it does work properly its nice, but if I had to do it all over again I wouldn't have bought it knowing what I know now!
