I was very disappointed. I ordered what looks like a factory replacement tip, from the picture. I was upgraded to an entire ColdHeat tool. ( After market) That's why they got 2 stars. The tip on the new tool was of a much denser carbon material than that of the official ColdHeat tip. It got hot to the touch but not hot enough to melt solder. It stayed hot for several seconds after it heated up, ColdHeat tips are cool almost instantly. I did not send this unit back because when I got it it was in a plastic tray with no manufacturer markings on it. It looks like it might have been a returned item. Originally my ColdHeat came in a hard plastic, clam shell case. I didn't want it to be resold because it simply didn't work, nor do I think it was truly a ColdHeat product nor did it say Cold Heat anywhere on it.
I would have included a picture of the packaging but Iv'e already thrown the packaging and the tool away.

This unit does work for very specialized soldering job, wires and pieces that are out of circuit. I would not recommend it for any soldering that needs to be done on any static sensitive equipment. I had originally ordered just the tip, but they were out of those and rather than hold up my order, sent me a complete unit. Excellent customer service
