Now you can practice with some of our most popular knife designs, in relative safety, with our new rubber training knives. We have rubber training versions of our Peace Keeper I, the R1 Military Classic, Recon Tanto, and the Black Bear Classic. Each has been carefully fashioned to look as realistic as possible so they can be effectively used in solo practice, training drills, disarm drills, and demonstrations and any other activity where you want a reasonably close approximation of realism but not the extreme danger and risk associated with an actual knife. The Santoprene rubber blades are soft enough to prevent the likelihood of most bodily injury. They do however, have a level of firmness that might cause injury to the face or the eyes, so it is recommended that appropriate eye protection or a fencing mask is utilized at all times when using a Cold Steel rubber training knife.
Many of innovative cutlery company Cold Steel's most popular knives, including this Leatherneck-SF, are now available in safe, rubberized trainer editions. Carefully fashioned to look as realistic as possible during solo practice, training drills, and demonstrations, these plastic knives are made of durable Santoprene material that will hold up to years of heavy use.

Top Customer Reviews
Recently, I decided to review the Cold Steel Leatherneck training knife which mimics the USMC Fighting Knife made by Ka-Bar. Since I own a couple of Ka-Bars & have them with me in the field, it makes sense to use a training knife that has very similar dimensions. Cold Steel really seems to get it right when designing their training knives to resemble the real blade. I own tanto’s, M9’s, trenchers & other trainers that are made by Cold Steel. After years of use, they are still serviceable and I use them for my personal practice as well as with my students.
The rubberized training blades are not always the best choice when it comes to specific training. If I am working with students on disarming & locking drills, I prefer an aluminum blade. But for most soft-work and especially with beginner students, my goto training knives are the “rubberized” Cold Steel blades. The term rubberized can be deceiving. Yes, these training knives bend but they are a tough piece of plastic. You can still cause serious damage to you as well as your training partner so be careful & wear eye protection.
If you are in the market for new training knives, take a close look at these Cold Steel Training Blades. They may be exactly what you are looking for.

I did about five hours of Airsoft the other day and I actually used the knife to get two people out! This knife is very good! I use it with my spring Sig Sauer P226, so pistol in one hand knife in other.
I have now gotten about ten or so people out with this knife. It's really a good knife, especially for anyone with a gas blowback pistol. I know have a GBB M9A1 pistol and use it with this, it's comforting to know that if my pistol runs out of ammo I can always maim the guy.
It will hurt if someone throws it at you! the tip is not pointed, and it only flexes about 1/2" (at the tip) and has a very solid feel, (feels like hard plastic).
I have dropped it, thrown it swung it and more, and it still maintains it's original shape!
it is also very well balanced, the weight of the handle it about that of the blade.
All around a good knife for training or airsoft!
It has almost the same length of a Ka-Bar marine knife. About half of weight, and the blade, including the tip, and the back are very thick, and apparently it does not fit any of the two sheath in the photo. So it looks pretty safe as you are not likely to cause harm to yourself or someone else with it.
The plastic feels robust, but is not hard plastic (as in some review says). In fact, you can bend the blade quite a bit, and it won't break.
The handle, though it is plastic too, can well simulate the feel of the Ka-Bar marine leather handle. It's non-sticky, kind of slippery, just exactly the same fraction of the Ka-Bar knife, and it is good.
The only improvement I can think of, is the weight. If some sand or metal is mixed, it may feel heavier.
