In science fiction, when one thinks of space travel through vast distances, there are usually three methods of travel. First is Faster Than Light (FTL) speed. Second is through Wormholes. Third is hibernation in space, where the passengers are in deep sleep while a skeleton crew operates the ship. The short story ColdSleep focuses on this third method of space travel, specifically what can go wrong with it.

The author weaves a very tight story from the perspective of the captain of a supply vessel, making an eleven months run from Earth to a space colony called Liberty. As the story moves along, the reader is peppered with hints here and there that something is very wrong aboard the ship. The wrongness finally comes to light at the very end of the story. . .

One may look at the Product Description and think 6300 words is too short a story to consider reading. But you should trust in Boulter and realize, once you read ColdSleep, that the story length is perfect. ColdSleep is highly recommended for fans of the author.

I've read all of Boulter's work. I liked this story and found he put some good thought into the timeline and plot. And the end twist was a nice touch.

This SF story looked promising but the author needs to sit down and write the novel, novella or at least a real short story. This is just enough to tease us- I'm sure I'd like the work that could/would be written, from this idea, but I've seen longer reviews!

This short story started well and there was a good build up with elements of suspense but then it just ended abruptly. It seemed to be building up to something interesting and then it was as if the writer just lost interest typed the THE END and left lots of issues hanging. I have read other things by this author so I know that this is not a true reflection of his work and I was very disappointed
