really cool..has different classic coleco games i wanted but easier and cheaper to collect this way especially since such short games but still fun to collect since are clever simple fun retro games sometimes on these collections..some we're impossible to buy seperately but are on here i found so i liked that..sometimes i heard the originals may have more levels but i am not sure..sometimes these collections seem like they have several or lots of levels on them depending on which multi cart or etc but i don't know

Not hdmi so may be hard to connect. My receiver supports composite conversion, but not for this original resolution. Good for me my old Atari monitor still works. Unfortunately the games are no fun with these junky controllers, not like the original.

Love the selections on here. Easy set-up. My kids love seeing the games I grew up compared to their current gaming systems. Perfect purchase for those who loved the old ColecoVision system. It DOES NOT come with Donkey Kong, however, like the original did. Purchase the Nintendo NES system for that.

Great bargain! got it mainly for Xaxxon one of my favorite 80's games. This system takes a lot of patience because each game works differently on the controller and you have to read what to do in the game manual provided. Plus the controllers are not that sturdy. Other than that you get a lot of great classic games cheap.

with 60 games. One would think that they would have the classic ColecoVision games, there's like 7 the rest are Atari and games that never made it anywhere.

I must say, I was a bit disappointed by this console. Of the 60 games on this system, I would say only about 15 are even worth playing. Some of the games are newer and weren't even around when the Coleco Vision was in stores, and these might be the worst games on the system too. It is great to play some of the games of my childhood though, like Space Fury, Zaxxon, and Venture. It also has Choplifter and Bump n' Jump which were original games for the CV, but other than that, I don't even recognize most of these games. I wish they had gotten the rights to other games like Ladybug and Mousetrap, but instead we have Ms. Space Fury, which looks like something a kid wrote in BASIC on the TI 99 4A.
The console itself is also a bit of an enigma. The controls are a bit lighter than the originals were, but their shape and functionality are authentic enough to make me forget that. I don't understand why I have to reset the system every time I want to play a new game. There should be some function on the controller that allows me to do that.
If you are a CV aficionado like me, its definitely worth buying. Otherwise, just get an emulator.

Very Nostalgic. A lot of Fun. Easily frustrating. Maybe the next version will have a better controller. Really the only fault of the system. War Room? I have to ask why? It was a shadow of the original Wargames.

These games bring back some old memories. I was disappointed some of my favorite games weren't included. Another complain is the controllers are kind of crappy - I seem to remember the real coleco vision controllers performing better.

A decent first outing for a fun, nostalgic system with some room for improvement.
Reviewed in Canada on February 20, 2015Verified Purchase
I agree with the majority of reviews listed here. This unit is definitely worth it for the nostalgic fun factor alone, but is lacking in some respects.
The quality is a little poor, notably the cheap, built in analog connector cables. And there does seem to be a sound issue at times. The controllers, while similar to the originals, have a slightly shorter joystick which doesn't have as smooth an action as the real ones. The unit also doesn't support the original controllers, which is a shame since so many of us hung onto them. You also can't use it with original cartridges. It might be wishful thinking, but hopefully future versions will allow it. It would also be nice to see a larger selection of games than the 60 included here, including some of the more popular ones that are noticeably missing.
That being said, if you had one of these as a kid back in the 80's, by all means go ahead and pick it up if you can get if for a decent price. There's still good selection of games, both classic and indy, and I can say from experience that the ones I originally had are faithfully replicated. Not perfect but really close.
And despite the analog connections, the video quality is quite good.
Bottom line: Lots of retro fun to be had here. A good first outing for the ColecoVision Flashback with hopefully better versions to follow.

Fun!

What a flashback! I do wish the controllers were wireless like the Atari or at least had longer cords. Also would have been nice to have some of the more popular games like Frogger, QBert, Donkey Kong, etc.

Brings you back to your Childhood!
Reviewed in Canada on January 8, 2017Verified Purchase
This little unit definitely brought me back to my childhood. Some games that I remember and some that I forgot. However, there are also a few games in here that should have been forgotten completely. Many of the best titles were also completely left out which was a little disappointing. Overall, the machine worked great and was still good value for the price.

It was in good condition and it arrived earlier then it was supposed to. Unfortunately it only has 60 games and not the best ones that were published. All in all I am pleased with this item.
