I got this for my wifes 2nd sous vide vessel. I was not messing around this time. Hinges and marine plug for easy water removal. I should have used marine grade rivets however this came in 10 mins ago and I was excited and impatient.

This is perfect for sous vide! Holds temp consistently and has enough room to cook 3-4 racks of ribs. You can easily set and forget it for those 12+ hour cooks. For those interested, here's my parts list:

I keep one of these nifty Coleman Coolers in the front trunk of my vehicle to transport frozen grocery items and to keep drinks cool, though it could just as well keep a lasagne or casserole warm. It fits nicely due to its low profile and compact footprint, leaving room around it in the trunk for other small items. I just wish the body color had been closer to the gray and black colors of my car. It's more of a light tan color, not gray, as seen in the photo.

I purchased the Coleman 24 Can cooler for use as a sous vide cook container.

I can't recommend it highly enough for use as a sous cook container - good size for most items to be cooked, insulates well for long cooks, the depth of the cooler is perfect for the Anova sous vide cooker, and the Anova attaches easily and securely to the side.

The insulating properties of this cooler keep heat loss of the sous vide water bath to less than 5F an hour (I lay Reflectix bubble insulation on top of the water and stick the Anova through a hole cut in the Reflectix). I left the original lid intact so that I have the option to use the cooler AS a cooler, though I know most people cut a hole in the lid and install through it.

We had some friends bring these on a camping trip and I fell in love, so I bought my own set of three. These things are incredible. I never realized how often I couldn't reach my stuff in deep coolers. We did several trips with these this summer. I use red for meat/protein, blue for drinks, green for fruits/veg. Here are some things I love.

1. The meat doesn't touch anything else -- good for food safety
2. I can lift these without hurting my back
3. Nothing squishes anything else
4. I can fit one behind each front seat of my car; my kiddo uses it as a foot rest. That means I can actually access food in the main part of the SUV without having to open the back and undo the Tetris-ed trunk
5. If I'm going on a shorter trip, I can just take 1 or 2
6. They stack so nicely that they end up being a useful surface

We got a strap/buckle so we can secure them together and leave them out of the tent at night without worrying about bears when we camp.

Highly recommend.

I use this for a sous vide cooker. It works fantastic, you can get a whole lot of bagged food in here. It is probably overkill for me as I only cook for two of us (plus enough for leftovers). Could have probably gone smaller. I modded it out using the instructions in the top rated review. That review gave the parts needed for the hinges and the drain plug. It really holds the temperature well and helps my Anova work more efficiently. Weighs a ton filled with water though, lol. It’s not exactly portable once you fill it up. I was told bathtubs and extension cords solve that problem but haven’t gone that route myself yet. So think about placement and size before you buy if you are looking to use this as a sous vide vessel. Recommend.
