35F temp and comfortable
easy to zip for sleeping
high quality sleeping bag zipper
weight is good for its thermal capacity
can be opened fully to use as a comforter or attach another bag to double its size
bulky and hard to roll back for storage, its ok if you don't intend to repack it often such as left in a cabin or bivouac
What it needs is a set of Coleman sleeping bag straps, Coleman Sleeping Bag Straps but you could have these lying around, I have many belts for my trek pants that I use as emergency lashing and carry many extras in my pack. You can roll the bag as in the guide shown on the bag itself, and stuff it into the carry bag, but to really compress it down the zipper in the carry bag will likely break if the Brazos isn't first compressed then reinforced. Then it could break later in the sticks as its not that strong a zipper. But it you lash it on both ends and the middle, and then optionally zipper it up [ zipper only make the bag look taut], it will be packed just like new and the straps do most of the work, reducing the tension on the zipper. Minus one star for a user unfriendly carry bag. The carry bag is somewhat necessary to keep the Brazos clean and can be washed easily compared to washing the Brazos. Its best to have bag straps free and not built into the carry bag, so if they break they can easily be replaced, and separate straps can be used for other purposes in the campsite when not used for the Brazos.
My big complaint is that both of my new sleeping bags showed signs of rubbing against something right out of the box. One lining was scratched so bad that it was torn open with a hole. The shipping box was intact when it arrived. So this must have happened in Amazon's warehouse. Such damage could easily happen though, because the sleeping bag does not have any plastic cover.
I have had the hole patched. It is ugly looking as you can see. For the price, I do not want to return them. But I am not a happy customer.
Would highly recommend this sleeping bag for camping for kids of all sizes. I like the fact if they are still small that they not only can grow into it, but they can also slide in further if they want to stay even warmer. I will continue buying the Coleman brand for years to come as more and more of my nephews join our cousin weekend camping trip. Good made product.
