4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good for the price
By Alan C. Moore on July 28, 2015
I set this tent up once before going on a 2 week camping trip to Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks. I did not check to see if it was waterproof. We slept 5 in the tent, but it was much more comfortable when we kicked one of the 5 out. I'd recommend 4 with gear, but 5 is do-able. We all used air mattresses which of course takes up more space.

When we got to Glacier we had a pretty good rain storm along with 15-25MPH winds. The tent stayed up which I was happy about, but it did leak. Not a lot, and I think it was mostly because there were 5 of us in it and we were up against the sides, and the rain fly doesn't go all the way down to the ground. Just FYI it rained the first day while we were setting up and cooking (but not while we were in it sleeping) and it did not get wet at all.

The vestibule was nice, but when it was raining while we were trying to cook I used a tarp to extend it out about 15' with the arch from the existing vestibule at one end and a single pole at the other (and used paracord to stake it out). If I was going to camp a lot I think I'd get some lightweight rainfly material and throw in another pole (maybe even an arch like the one that comes with the tent).

Overall I was pleased with the tent. I bought it knowing we were just going to use it for this 1 two week excursion because the price was right. It does now have a small tear in one of the pole sleeves (happened the last day) but it still works.

It held up to wind much better than I expected, but you have to have the rain fly on it to do so.
