I've used this bag down to 20F degrees and it is indeed comfortable and keeps you warm. As much fabric used to make this thing it certainly should. Not sure about 5 below though (It doesn't get that cold here) but I'd probably trust it inside a tent at these temperatures out of the wind with at least 2 layers of clothing. I recently slept in it at about 55F in open air and it was a bit too warm for me. (Unzip a little and uncover). The interior is soft to the touch and very plush. I love the extra width as I can kick a knee out and still "sprawl" with the bag zipped.
One of the nice things I discovered (and was mentioned by another reviewer) is the "wrap" used to cover the bag. It's attached to the "head" end of the bag and really makes a nice face tent/cover when sleeping out in the open. Especially if there's a slight breeze. Also muffles the night-time critter noises a bit so you can sleep and keeps the early morning sun at bay.
My only regret is I didn't pay closer attention to how the thing was folded up when I first took it out of the box. It was very compact and folded in thirds I think - all wrapped tightly in the attached cover and tied with the strings. I can't replicate the "factory" fold/roll and don't even try anymore. I just roll from the bottom and wrap it. It ends up being pretty long but the cover seems to be made for this method because there's a centered carry handle in the middle. (Very handy actually).
The puny pillow that comes with it was a little bonus as I like small pillows.Read more ›
I haven't gone through the winter with this thing yet, but I love to sleep with the A/C really cranked up and blowing in my face. So, as long as I can be warm while I sleep, I'm fine. The problem I've seen so far is that my feet are cold and will wake me up during the night. I may get the temperature down to the mid to upper 50's in the truck during the night, but I just don't see how this is gonna work at -5 degrees. I can already see that I will have to take an extra quilt to throw over the bag while I sleep.
I do like the canvas-like outer shell instead of the slick outer shells. There are a lot of times that I have to park on some sort of down slope and with a slick bag I find myself either bunched up in a corner or headed for the floor at some point during the night. I also like the width and length of the bag. I don't like my feet to be constrained while I'm sleeping and with me being 5'11", I still have plenty of room to wiggle the tootsies. I also toss and turn a lot through the night and because of the width of this bag, I am not constrained around my chest area and able to toss and turn without it waking me up. The size of it ends up being just a couple of inches smaller (width and length) than the twin mattress I sleep on in the truck.
Overall, I am happy with this bag and would buy it again if I needed another. It serves my purpose well enough.
When the bag arrived today, I immediately noticed the label clearly states: Filling = 100% Polyester.
Polyester has its advantages (weight, quicker drying etc) but it also doesn't breathe as well and is cheaper. So I fully expected this bag to be as advertised and I was willing to pay a bit more for the 100% Cotton claim.
I haven't opened it any further and will be returning it to Amazon.

We really like these bags. They are very comfortable, the fabric doesn't catch your skin, which I really hate, and they are warm down into the 30's. Read morePublished 4 days ago by Ted Ryan

The sleeping bag is great, however the pillow that comes with it should be left out. It is very small and thin and about 12×6 inches.Published 15 days ago by Amazon Customer
