Before purchasing, I compared this Coleman Heritage Big and Tall Sleeping Bag (Brown) to another Coleman Big and Tall Sleeping bag from WalMart. The bag at WalMart was $20 more. The only noticeable differences were the bag at WalMart had a cover that the bag fit into after rolling it up and the inside fabric was a different print.
Everything else appeared to be the same. WRONG!
After purchasing this Coleman Heritage Big and Tall Sleeping Bag (Brown) sleeping bag from Amazon, I found it did not have any top stitching on the outside of the bag to secure the outer material to the inside. The similar bag at WalMart did. Without this top stitching, the outer material pulls and twists. Very irritating.
If I were buying again, I would choose the Coleman sleeping bag at WalMart instead. Costs a little more, but will last a LOT longer. Well worth the extra $$.
The bag is still large and warm, so I give it 2 stars.

I bought this to replace an older Coleman that was damaged. Nowhere near the quality, it has a much cheaper feel than the one it replaced, which was only about 10yrs old. Not quite as large as I was hoping for a fatboy either. Not a bad bag for the price but I would've liked better, especially from Coleman. They seem to be following the "Made in China and as cheaply as possible" mantra as everybody else. I blame the American consumer for this.

I brought several of these sleeping bags for power failures caused by Nor'easters. My husband still has his military sleeping bag and it has served us well but we needed more for our kids. Our power went out during Hurricane Sandy and we had to break these out. First of all they are so warm and big, we easily could fit two kids per sleeping bag. They are very well-made and the flannel lining is very soft. We ended up using one of these ourselves and loved how warm they kept us. It is nice to know I am prepared for the winter outages that are sure to come! I highly recommend these sleeping bags for keeping warm during outages!

Amazingly warm. I traveled across the country and slept in my van many nights. This thing kept me perfectly warm in 20 degree weather. I'm 165 and 6-3, and the extra length was more than enough for me. It is a bit heavy though, so it's not for backpacking. Pretty much like a giant comforter.

This bag is pretty big and comfortable. The issue I have is the exterior material is far too thin to last. Out of the box it almost has a hole in it already. The design is good but the manufacturing is very sloppy. There are lots of loose threads and loose seams. This bag won't last very long. Coleman has another large bag called "Big Game" that has a much better canvas cover for about the same price. Both are too large and bulky to be machine washed at home but the Big Game bag has a built in cover. This bag has no case and is very hard to tie up with the attached strings. I'll probably use this for a year and give it to Goodwill.

I used this on a camping trip this last week. The size is nice as I like a little bit more room in my sleeping bag. The temperature only got down to low 40's (AZ camping) so the sleeping bag worked great! I like the outside having a soft fabric so other blankets don't slip off as easy as they do with the typical "slick bags"

We are getting ready for another triip to Yellowstone and decided we need new sleeping bags with a colder temperature rating.(our last trip there got COLD!) We have been using Coleman sleeping bags for 40+ years. Our current bags are nearly 20 years old and still getting used often. So picking these bags was a no brainer.
These are a larger bag, a little more utiliatarian with a heavier shell but still with a soft blanket liner. Bags are well made and have nice heavy zippers. They did not come with storage bags but do have a clever and easy to use tie strap.
We will be using them on cots with an insulated mat and I suspect we will be quite comfortable and expect years of use.

Okay, I will update this for sure but right now I am comparing it to one I bought at Walmart for 10$ more last year. No comparison. This one feels cheap and is much lighter...but I have not used it yet so it may be more than adequate. I use it in a cold house on a queen bed...don't like heat up at night, but it can get very cold in the house..40s. So, having said that we will see how well it works. Just feels so cheap..cotton lining not felt feel like the one from Walmart and just not as puffy and nice. The one from Walmart is not available on-line right now...my store doesn't carry it.
