I'm happy with this grill. My husband wasn't thrilled with the idea of a "crappy little grill" instead of a big Weber or something similarly oversized and overpriced. I convinced him to go for this one by reminding him that I do the grilling, and he rarely used our last grill. I like that I can easily pack this up and take it camping with us, it will be easy to store when winter comes, and I love the optional griddle and burner. It doesn't seem to get quite as hot as fast as our former grill did, but the more I use it the less that is a problem. Note that the "two zone temperature control" is not side by side, like I thought it would be, but rather an inner and outer burner. So even with only one burner on, there is heat to both sides of the grill. Sort of lame, but not a deal breaker. This grill uses the 1lb propane bottles, so if you want to hook it up to your 20lb or larger tank you'll have to get an adaptor.

Easiest grill I've ever cleaned. The instructions say to put water in the drip pan, the drip pan is the entire inside around the elements. It just lifts right out and is easy to dump, and just wipes clean. The cast iron grill is solid in the center over the burner elements so nothing can fall through the grill onto the elements, keeping them clean as well, and providing a grill pan surface in the center of the grill that nothing can fall through. It got quite hot quite fast but the outer edge was cooler than I would prefer, but that's how most any gas grill is. It is enameled cast iron so you can't use metal spatulas, tongs or wire brushes ets on it, so I used the silicone tipped tongs, and sharp ended wooden Spatula, silicone Spatula and long wooden Chef's chopsticks. I used a Lodge Cast Iron brush and some salt to brush it down, then added water and brushed some more and then it wiped clean. You don't need to season it. The grill plates are dishwasher safe but it is easy enough to clean before you put it away. You just wipe down inside the lid and the inside is clean. I used to have to wipe up all the drippings and grease in my previous portable Grills before putting in the car. The grates cool pretty quickly. It's way lighter than an all cast iron hibachi like Lodge makes. The experience isn't quite as good as raw cast iron, but since it's Portable the ease of cleaning is by far worth the difference, especially for long road trips etc. I used a 40" plastic hooked bungee cord to wrap around it and keep the lid closed. Just tie an overhand knot or two in it to make it the right size. The regulator is supposed to be unscrewed before putting it away so it has a long grip to unscrew it with making it much more compact than smaller cheaper Grills that have the regulator attached way inside the grill. I put the regulator in a small soft bag, and the utensils in a fabric shopping bag wrapped with a plastic hooked bungee and put it on the grill plates then bungee it closed. The whole thing fits in a standard Ikea bag to make it easy to carry. The burners are inner ring and outer ring, not left and right, which is quite perfect for this grill since the inner would just heat the center plate slightly, since the grill plates are divided into 2/3 on one side and 1/3 on the other. I like the ridge divider between the two, as I can avoid cross contamination easier. Great grill, I like the fact that the legs are long stationary rails that you don't have to fold. The cast iron, though enameled, still cooks better than anything not cast iron, and is clean and oil free unlike raw cast iron

Great Portable Grill

I purchased this grill last week and used it camping this past weekend at Bandelier National Monument. It's a great grill, lots of heat and cooks evenly. The water pan made cleaning up the grill very quick and easy. I have a 10-year old Roadtrip Grill that I have the stove ring and griddle for and they work perfectly with the 225. The old Roadtrip is still going strong, it's just a bit large to stash in the camper, the 225 is perfect because of the smaller footprint it has. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

Search for Perfect RV Grill Finally Over

Nice to receive something that is fully assembled. Out of the box experience was great. A little lacking on "how to use" instructions, but was easy for me to figure out. Before cooking on it the first time, I put cooking oil on the grill grates and ran the unit on high for 15 minutes to get rid of any manufacturing oils and smells (didn't detect any, so this may not be a necessary step). Cooked a couple of NY steaks along with baby potatoes and fresh whole green beans (wrapped in foil). Everything came out perfect. No flare ups. Easy clean up. Delicious food. Used a 2nd time for hot dogs and more potatoes. I've never grilled more perfect hot dogs. Perfect gill marks and no complaints from anyone. No leftovers! For the price, I wish it came with a case or cover to protect it in transit. Gourmet camping chefs may not like this grill due to the inability to precisely control the temp, but for those of us who like to wing it as we go, it's great. I think kabobs are up next! As noted, dual burners are not left and right, but an inside ring and an outside ring. Turning these on/off as needed was all the temp and flame control I needed. Bonus, as long as one is lit the other will light automatically making it easy-peasy to utilize the burners as needed.

This is very portable and easy to clean with the ceramic on the cast iron grates. The big plus is the inner pan that you put water in to catch the grease which also comes out to clean. The interchangeable griddle and pot burner makes this a great grill for a couple or small family.

First the things that I like.
1. Get very out, very good for shearing i.e. stakes
2, Can cook with very low heat good for cooking chicken, fish etc..
Thinks I don't like
1. I bought this product because of the dual control what I assumed would be a dual burners. Yes it does have to burner but they are concentric both covering the same grill area, therefore one can not cook indirect.
2. The water tray. How do you empty it? What do you do when it feels up with grease just let it burn? What do you when go camping, dump it the stream? I bet the rangers love that.

My only complaint is the the way the grills plates are made, with the ridge between them!! Went to put a flat tray on the grill to cook sausage, but with the high ridge the tray would not lay flat!! One end was up higher than the other!! have not tried to turn them over to see if that's any better or not??
