I was surprised by how big they actually were when they arrived, not so much the length at rest but the grips of each tool. They're made of a high-quality, durable plastic which feels good in the hand but may make some uneasy if you don't have a lot of space to put them down away from the grill when using it. I'd recommend bringing a utility hook to hang them if possible from your canopy, picnic table or elsewhere when grilling to keep the plastic from heating up.
Upon first use, it was very difficult to extend each tool. It was as if the plastic switch was stuck. You have to press really hard to get it to work. After a few uses, it was much easier to use and you didn't have to exert so much pressure.
Overall for the price, and the fact these fit in my grill bag, they were a good buy.
If space is at a premium, then this may be worth it. If its not, take a pass.
The spatula works fine, even when it's extended. The plastic handles feel cheap and I am sure they would melt if too close to any heat source.
I'm probably going to replace the tongs with ones that are better and more durable.
I expected more from Coleman. I got less.
