That being said, I had to return this bag. I'm a 5'10" slim-built male, and I can't recommend this bag to anyone taller than say, 5'8".
The length is NOT 84" as advertised. It is roughly 75" (I measured). The FUNCTIONAL length (from the end to the scoop opening) is only about 62" once you account for the length taken away by the depth of a person laying inside. So in short, unless 62" is enough length to cover your neck and shoulders, I would avoid purchasing this bag or any other "scooped" Coleman bag for that matter.
The width of the bag is 38".
We found this bag perfect for camping out inside while traveling away from home. The Coleman Sabine simplifies the logistics of our host family finding enough sheets and blankets to bed down a family of five.
For road trips, we pack three Sabines and two twin AeroBeds. The adults sleep in regular beds with regular bedding while the kids bunk down on a couch and the blow ups. The bags take the place of linens making daily setup and breakdown convenient. The quilted design and generous polyester fill make for a roomy and comfy night's sleep.
Besides being comfortable, these bags are toasty. Even in houses where the nighttime thermostat is set to 60 degrees, the kids seemed warmer and more comfortable in their sleeping bags than the adults who were sandwiched between cold sheets topped by layers of flannel blankets and heavy comforters.
Although the bag comes with Coleman's QuickCord storage - a plastic hook catches and holds the rolled up end of the bag - we purchased three large Nelson-Rigg Compression Bags in which to stuff the Sabines. This kept the bags clean and made transporting and storage easy.
The Sabine performed exactly as we expected which is why I give it five stars. It's a solid sleeping bag for amateurs, kids and weekend warriors (who are less than 5'8").
Camped outdoors 1st night 36 degrees F. Wore leggings, sweat pants, 2 shirts, a sweater, socks plus "bundle monster fleece liner" and it was still a bit chilly.
2nd night was 40 degrees F, I was more comfortable as long as I tucked my face inside.
I'm a cold sleeper type. I knew where I go would be as low as 40 so thought this 20 degree bag would help. Even with all the layers of clothes I had on plus sleeping bag liner, you would expect that I'd break a sweat in there. I would say this bag should be rated between 40-50 rather than a 20.
If you're a cold sleeper like me and want to get a Coleman for their decent price and quality plus machine wash ok....maybe try the 0 degree bag going into 40 degree weather.
Wish it came with a sac bag
It also rolls up faster than any bag I have ever used. They have the perfect system for rolling it up. I basically fold it onto itself twice and then use the clip to attach the bag in a rolled like fashion. It takes me less than 10 seconds to have it rolled up and ready for transport.
The other issue with bags is always the zipper getting stuck as you're just about to get comfy. This zipper has a plastic cover that clears the fabric out of the way so that the zipper doesn't get bound up with the liner.
Thank you Coleman for making a bag that works!
Update: This sleeping bag has been successfully used in cold weather, and I must say it is very good at keeping warmth in the bag itself. I am very glad that I purchased the Coleman brand sleeping bag. Although it does not minimize all weight restrictions when choosing a sleeping bag, it definitely keeps you warm, but I care not for portability when it comes to the thing that is preventing me from freezing!
