From the Back Cover
But their greatest struggles are just beginning.
Honorably discharged from the Army after an explosion nearly killed her, former military psychiatrist Brooke Adams has set up shop to help others, but her days of helping military personnel are over. She's got her own battles to fight from her time overseas, and she's not equipped to take on more.
Former Army Special Ops Sergeant First Class Asher James could handle anything that war sent his way. The only thing that scares him now is sleep. As the shadows close in, the nightmares begin.
Finally convinced that he needs help, Asher makes an appointment with a counselor. When he arrives at her office, she isn't there--but a dead body is. When it becomes clear that Brooke was the real target of the attack--and that her secrets go even deeper than his own--Asher vows to protect her no matter what.

Great book! It had a different plot compared to a lot of the other Christian suspense books I have read recently! The first few chapters contained several characters and I was happy I was reading the book on my kindle so I could easily go back and search characters names until I became familiar with them. In my opinion, this isn’t a book to start late at night when you are tired! But once you get into it, it will keep you on the edge of your seat!
I really appreciated how the main characters had a connection because of the trauma they had experienced and they were able to process through the trauma together. I felt like it added a depth to their relationship. I always love Lynette’s books and this one is definitely another winner!
I really enjoyed this story, I read all of Lynette Eason's books and love her writing. This book deals with the effects if PTSD and self worth. The subjects are handled in a way that makes you want to value life to its greatest possibilities.
I received a complimentary copy of Collateral Damage by Lynette Eason from Revell Publishing, but the opinions stated are all my own.
I received a copy of this novel from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
Brooke and Asher’s characters help bring to light the PTSD issues many soldiers and military personnel face. It is not only well written, but with dignity. They tackle many different issues throughout the book with consequences that are far reaching from Afghanistan to the US.
Sarah is not afraid to dig deep to discover hidden truth regardless of the danger to herself. You discover how fearless and selfless her character is. It is a great teaser for the next book in the series.
I highly recommend this book! You will not be disappointed.
Eason is a master of moving a story forward with no time to catch your breath. She provided just enough clues to let me solve the plot along with the characters, something I truly enjoyed. After reading the first two chapters of the sequel, I look forward to seeing what's next for these characters and their friends.
