Beautiful Art

There is not one picture in this book that I dislike. 90% of the pictured are framed and the framing is beautiful. Although the book has 25 pictured, they all beautiful and instead of only liking a few, I love them all. The pages are one sided. The paper I would guess is of medium stock. I am actually trying to use my pencils in the framing to see how the different pencils compare. Definitely a 5++++
1-Faber-Castell Polychromo's---on a scale of 1-being (bad, bad, bad) and 10 excellent. The Poly's are a 10
2-IROJITEN----8 still easy to work with and beautiful
colors, still a beautiful picture you just have to work a little bit harder for good results.
3---Marco Renoir-3200- very good results. I'll give it a 8 because I had to stop due to the paper quit taking any more color. After blending it changed the two minute spots and the product worked great.
4---Marco Renoir 3100 - black pencils with recycled wood and then dyed black, very beautiful that came in beautiful tin case. But this time I Worked a little smarter and used more layers, but still hit that wall of saturation. So I 'll give it a firm 7.
5-Derwent Color Soft-it does go on easily but has a different feel to it.
Kind of a gritty feel to it. I also had hard time getting that part of the frame and even with a blender it still didn't have a even look to it. This pencil I gave it a 5.

“Collected Faeiries” is a must have for those that love fairies, sprites, and fae critters. This book has a beautifully colored cover and includes 20 detailed illustrations. The fairies are all in beautiful attire and in scenes with plenty of flowers, butterflies, moths, plants and mushrooms/toadstools, etc.

I am really excited about this book. Each illustration in this book is beautiful. I have always loved coloring fairies, and have purchased fairy books in the past and ended up disappointed. This book is not like that. You will be pleased with all the images.

The book opens to the standard copyright page, along with the link to Ellen Million Graphics, where you can find this book and many more. Next are the 20 illustrations, ending with the back inside cover showing a few of the other books available.

The illustrations are full page. There is sufficient amount of white space border to allow easy removal with an Exacto knife for framing or for photocopying without losing any of the image. The lines are crisp and clear with no fuzzy, pixelated or skipped lines. The images are printed single-sided, which is what most colorists prefer.

Although, the book says the difficulty level is “pretty darn challenging”, I do disagree with that. The illustrations are detailed, with a nice balance of open spaces and smaller details. Those with vision and dexterity issues should have very little problems at all coloring these images. There are a few pages with some definite intricate areas, but overall, this book should be fairly easy to color.

Paper weight is about medium, which is about standard for most coloring books. You can use most coloring mediums on this paper. If you use markers, you will have the normal bleed through, so be sure to put a few pieces of paper behind your image you are coloring to protect the next from any possible damage. If you prefer using watercolor pencils or other wet medium, I would recommend copying to heavier weight paper, like mixed media paper, watercolor paper, or even 110# card stock, that will hold up to the water application. I usually use watercolors, and do not color in my books because of that; so am used to having to photocopy to heavier paper. This is normal for me and doesn't bother me to do so.

This book is good for all ages and skill levels.
