It looks like it was printed in somebody's garage. The manufacture date, why is that even printed in it, is 2 days ago. A complete and total waste of money and time. Avoid this at all costs. I am offended that this is called a "Book". Double Spaced over sized fonts, it's nothing but filler. 47 pages that could have been reduced with correct spacing and font to 10 pages, that could then be an article reduced to 2 pages at most. The pages on the left have the page number printed on the inner spine. This is definitely a DIY print job, not from an actual printer. I ran an ISBN search on it and it is indeed "Self Published".
I want a refund.

Mainly For the US Market/Stamp Collector
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 17, 2020Verified Purchase
Book arrived quickly and was in excellent condition. However upon reading it, I found that it was aimed mainly at the USA stamp collectors (most stamp references were US collections and denominations), and also written for the younger reader perhaps. I am a beginner in the UK and I found this "very simply" written and not that helpful in getting started into stamp collecting. A few useful tips on some things and not much content in the very thin book.
Felt it was not worth the money asked and should say in the product detail that it is aimed mainly at US stamp collector market.

Disappointing
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on December 21, 2020Verified Purchase
I hadn't noticed in the product details that this book is only 53 pp long, so it was disappointingly thin and amateurishly produced. The large type means that it is only about 10,000 words long. Also there are no illustrations, in contrast to the colourful cover. And I can't see any warning that the book is directed at Americans.
The statement on p 9 that stamp collecting is 140 years old and began in 1840 made me realise that this was published quite some time ago. Presumably that's why there is no mention of the internet, which is a valuable source of information for the collector. In the bibliography there is a reference to a work 'released in 2000', so there has been some updating since 1980 but clearly not enough.

RUBBISH
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on April 5, 2022Verified Purchase
This is probably the worst book on stamp collecting that I have ever seen. It is only suitable for the under fives, and it's enormous print means it can be completely read in five minutes - I did it.
I then consigned it to by waste paper bin - chastised myself for buying such a useless item, and got on with my life.

Not the best book for beginners
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on August 10, 2021Verified Purchase
This book is overly expensive, the type is so large and the gaps between paragraphs are massive, it is an obvious trick to pad the book out, the useful information could be contained in a pamphlet and the claim that it could help set up a income source on the front cover is misleading.
There are far better books for beginners on the market, I would avoid spending your money on this one.

I should have read the reviews. This book is complete rubbish and was obviously written for two year olds. It's an insult to have it on sale.ik
