From the Back Cover
"Jake." I cupped a hand around his cheek, keeping the other held against the wound. "Look at me. Help's on the way. You have to keep fighting. You have to pull through this."
He stared at the ceiling, and I kept trying to force him to look at me. But it was hopeless. His eyes were unfocused--lifeless--and his head was a dead weight in my hand.
"No!" I pounded on his chest, my body heaving as I collapsed on top of him. He couldn't be gone. This couldn't happen to someone I loved.
"Come on, Jake," I cried. "We need to get out of here. I love you... you can't leave me. You have to wake up. Please. Wake up."
Then another shot cracked through the air, my head seared with blinding pain, and everything went dark.

Or were they lucky? If Anna had called tails instead, her mother would have eaten sushi and be too sick to go to the hospital where she worked as a doctor. She would have avoided being struck by a truck driver that ran a red light and killed her instantly. And Anna’s life wouldn’t have crumbled.
Unfortunately, Anna couldn’t change her past and she’s trying to survive without her mother in her present. Six months later she’s finally bouncing back and excited about the upcoming Halloween dance at school and her date with boyfriend Jake. However, at the party, when the couple is dancing the first slow dance of the evening, a shot rings out in the gym causing panic. Anna’s dress turns crimson as Jake keels over in her arms. Another shot rams into Anna’s skull and all goes dark.
When Anna wakes up she soon realizes she’s reliving the week before the Halloween Dance providing her the opportunity to save Jake’s life. In this parallel universe Anna goes by the name of Annabelle and her mother ate sushi.
Michelle Madow creates a very exciting time travel YA love story through the eyes of Anna/Annabelle. The attractive teenager tries to convince her friends in this new universe who she really is and the dangers they face.
The plot of Madow’s novel, Collide, and her efforts at character development are extremely creative as Anna expertly works her friends in believing her story. But will her efforts be in vain to stop the unknown assassin?
Rewind a week and Anna awakens in what seems to be a parallel universe after her horrid night. In this world though Anna finds that her mother is still alive and the friends she had abandoned in the world she knew are still close to her but her boyfriend Jake is now with someone else. Unfortunately for Anna it seems as events begin to play out in this world the timeline is still leading to the dance and that horrific night so will she be able to stop it this time?
As usual with a Michelle Madow book Collide immediately grabbed my attention right from the start with it's fast paced action and a unique story line mixing time travel and parallel universes along with a young adult romance filled with plenty of action. There is a bit of a love triangle involved in the story while switching universes for those that don't enjoy those but for me this was one that was easily understandable and not a distraction from the overall story.
Now, for the couple of things I didn't quite like with this one bringing my rating down a tad bit. First, as much as I enjoyed the fast pace and plot in here there are a few questions left at the end that I would love to see continued. Originally this was meant as a standalone but Michelle has expressed a possibility for a sequel so maybe those will be answered. Also, I would have liked the chapters to be better sorted... they were titled by the date and that would sometimes mean several in a row with the same title which could be a tad confusing.
Overall, Even with a couple of complaints this was still another great read from Michelle Madow, fast paced and action packed.
I received an advance copy from the author.
Ok, there is one a warning: there is a bit of a cliffhanger in this book. Having said that, it's really the kind that can pretty much be ignored. Nonetheless, if any sort of a cliffie is a no-go zone, consider yourself advised. I usually hate them and avoid them like the plague, but this was just a really minor nuisance. In my mind it changed my score from a 4 1/4 to a 4 at worst (compared to most of the time when I wouldn't score more tha 2 stars for a book with a cliffie.)
Author: Michelle Madow
Genre: Young Adult, Fantasy
Thoughts: This was a very fast paced, exciting book. Although, I figured out who it was before it was revealed the rest of the story was very interesting. My only problem was the ending, for me there wasn't any closure and that bothers me. I want to know what happened along with why it happened. Plus some of it didn't make sense, but I don't want to give anything away so you'll have to read it to find out. The premise of the story was awesome, almost like Ground Hogs Day but instead of just repeating one day it was a parallel universe and it wasn't a continuous repeat. I really liked the characters and was torn between the two guys, both being awesome book boyfriends. I would've loved to give this 5 stars but there were just too many questions that remained unanswered, but don't let that deter you from reading it!
