It's amazing how one moment in time can change a life, a secret, a whole existence. That is what happens when, without thinking, Jeremy saves Grace, and you could almost hear his "s**t! after he realized what he did!
Eva really drags the reader into Jeremy's character and existence. He, like his family, is "hiding" in plain view but trying to fly below the psychic radar. He lives a quiet life and has seemed content with that. But that makes his existence seem superficial because he can't set down roots, get close to anyone, open up to anyone, trust anyone, love anyone. He seems to be the one to rush in to save his family from being outed, but who is there for him?
Grace's past consists of being abandoned by her selfish mother to be raised by her grandmother. Having just lost her grandmother, she finds herself alone and struggling. She starts out seeming like a timid little mouse who is trying to change her life and become more confident. With Jeremy's help or maybe because of Jeremy she finds a strength she didn't realize she had. Both become a pivotal point in their each other's life and the changes to come. But will that be for the good of them both or will their lives unwind?
It almost seems as if there may be more in Grace's background we have yet to find, and I look forward to her standing out and becoming an integral part of the family.
That being said, I like and can see where the story is going. The questions have begun. Will we see the family get back together? Will the heads of Alpha Project rear their heads and when? Will there ever be a HEA? Can't wait for the next installment!
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review
Eva Chase brings us the beginning of what looks to me will be a fantastic series. An agency bent on taking people with special abilities and turning them into lab rats. Jeremy's family has been on the run since he can remember. Always running and now that the kids are grown the family is scattered across the globe. Jeremy has spent the last 20 yrs helping his siblings stay off the radar. He now finds himself targeted because he instinctively helped a woman and has become involved with her. They will tackle the Alpha Project together. Will it all work out? Read it to find out!
I was on the edge of my seat! I could not put the story down!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Why 3 stars? Because I liked the book, but it lacked the 'wow' factor. I have no major complaints but I do not plan on rereading it anytime soon. Will check for the other books in the series though.
Saving Grace puts Jeremy in the sights of a group his parents have escaped from and also puts Grace in danger. Jeremy also finds something he never thought he could have.
I voluntarily reviewed this ARC book.
I really liked Jeremy, and empathized with him for having to keep to himself and being on his own to protect the rest of his family.
I liked Grace who was fairly quiet and shy at times, but had her bold moments and was fiercely loyal.
Really liked them together as a couple.
Looking forward to more in this series!
