About the authors

Patrick McCray entered the Dark Shadows community in 2012 when he successfully screened all 1225 episodes in only 45 days. He joined the Collinsport Historical Society staff the next year. A native of Louisville, Kentucky — he grew up blocks away from both Roger Davis and the house where Mitch Ryan was raised. Prior to earning his MFA in stage directing, Patrick helped the Rattlesnake Productions art department launch the landmark, television hit, Babylon 5 and was a comic book author for Revolutionary Comics, creating the underground cult hit, Elvis Shrugged while serving as protege to maverick comic book publisher, Todd Loren. Moonlighting as a film critic for a British website, Patrick's comments on Duck Soup would later be cited by Roger Ebert in his column and book, The Great Movies. He later wrote top-selling biographies of Betty White, Jack Dorsey, Britney Spears, and Elvis Presley. Having directed over eighty stage plays, he also co-produced and co-starred in the lauded audio series, Star Trek: The Continuing Mission. He has been writing the Dark Shadows Daybook since 2016, winning the 2018 Rondo Award for writer of the year. As a webmaster, you can see his work at kathrynleighscott.com.

Will McKinley is a New York City-based writer, reporter, producer and classic film and television fan.
He's been a guest on Turner Classic Movies (interviewed by host Robert Osborne), NPR, Sirius Satellite Radio and the TCM podcast. Will has written for Slate and PBS and his byline has appeared more than 100 times in the pages of NYC alt weeklies like The Villager and Gay City News. He's also a contributor to four film/TV-related books: "Monster Serial" (2013), "Bride of Monster Serial" (2014), "Remembering Jonathan Frid" (2014), and "Taste the Blood of Monster Serial" (2015).

Ansel Faraj is an award-winning independent American film director, screenwriter, and producer, known for such films as BROTHER DROP DEAD starring Linden Chiles, and the revisionist DOCTOR MABUSE films starring "Dark Shadows" cast members Jerry Lacy, Kathryn Leigh Scott, Lara Parker, and Christopher Pennock. He wrote and directed a 6-part anthology web series THEATRE FANTASTIQUE, featuring Christopher Pennock, Sally Kirkland, Lisa Blake Richards, Jerry Lacy, and Lara Parker, which is available to stream on YouTube and Vimeo. In 2015 he released the short film WHATEVER HAPPENED TO DETECTIVE ADAM SERA? a comic book themed short, and his feature film, the Lovecraft Noir THE LAST CASE OF AUGUST T HARRISON began making the rounds at film festivals across the country. He is currently at work on a second installment in his 'Detective Adam Sera' series - UNDER A SHROUD OF SMOKE, which will hopefully see a festival screening before the end of 2016.
