From the Author
First of all, I'd like to thank you for your interest in my book. I want to encourage you to write an honest review. It is my hope that you love The Collision of Fire and Ice
as much as I do, but either way, please let me know what you think.
The Collision of Fire and Ice is a work that has been driving me for the last several years. Even when I wasn't writing the characters would speak to me. The catalyst for this book came while I was doing family research. I found that my clan, and my husband's clan in Scotland were at war nearly 400 years ago. Of course, I had to ask the question, what would my great-grandpa think if he knew I married into his enemies family, and that is where the idea started. It only grew from there.
Karn and Iaian are two strong characters and they both have a strong sense of clan and duty, but they are also willing to do what needs to be done, even when it interferes with those beliefs.
Lilia is a warrior and a princess, but she is more than that. And, really she becomes one of the most essential characters in the book. I believe she's helped Karn to find the place he's in now, and she will be very important in the sequel.
Annielie really came into her character as the writing progressed. I believed she was older when I first started writing, but she told me she was definitely young and vibrant. She is driven, and really is crucial to what's going to happen. In fact, I think her importance may be a huge surprise as the series progresses.
Lucca was a recent concept. I was writing one day and thought man this book needs dragons, and that was when Lucca was born.
I really love this book, and I hope you do, too!
