Calldornian reviewed The CFR Collusion, Chapter One
Impressive September 18, 2011
If I was to describe this work using comparisons (cliche and risky I know), I would say this sci fi novel, in chapters has similarities to Asimov's Foundation with future dystopia thesis and Ender's Game space travel logic. Compelling making you want more
Blended story telling September 21, 2011
Excellent time line parallels in the next chapter installment, hard hitting future paradigms as the characters are cultivated during their hostile planet experiences.
High calibre Science Fiction September 22, 2011
This is the sort of stuff you want on you're shelf bound in leather. Chapter three brings in new dimensions. Levels within subconscious paranoia, passion beyond the erotic and descriptive innate evil. Very good indeed.
Brain slugs and dangerous pets September 29, 2011
The character metamorphosis intensifies with the introduction to some real interplanetary nasties, in the forth chapter installment of The CFR Collusion. Magnificent.
Alien war against an expanding plot. October 9, 2011
The expanding framework of the story begins to tackle the difficult questions asked by very human and very alien characters. intriguing to the last.
Politics and Bounty Hunters October 21, 2011
I must once again compare to Asimov's Foundation the intricacy of Steve Vandervelde's work. Depicting in this installment intuitive politics that lead and or influence the characters and their world. Here explained in depth coupled with the age old question of the merit of our justice systems.
Excellent intellectual reading.
From the Author
In the CFR Collusion I take a look into a future where humanity has recovered from a disastrous economic calamity, wars, and plagues resulting in the depopulation of the planet by 90%. A world government has taken charge, manipulating a vast system of mega-corporations and nominally autonomous city-states. The idea that population growth must be restricted at all costs and that the best way to improve the human condition in the long term is though selective breeding has been imposed by the World Health Organization under the agency of the corrupt Eugenics Commission. The level of corruption has created a new slave trade in un-authorized people, who officially have no right to exist.
A deeper problem is discovered, forcing revolutionaries and the super powerful to cooperate or the human race is doomed.
