About the authors

Virginia Sanchez Korrol is a historian and Professor Emerita at Brooklyn College, CUNY. Her first book, From Colonia to Community, tells the story of Puerto Ricans in New York City during the inter-war years. After publishing a series of scholarly books, she’s turned to writing historical novels for teens and her first children’s picture book.
