It seemed like it would be another zombie movie, but the viruses that they were fighting were the common cold, the flu, you know, the stuff that comes during our annual celebration of the flu season. Well the it is probably the drugs companies that celebrate.

Anyhow, they weren't crazy from the viruses. They were ferel people because... I guess, it was because they ate human flesh. Yes, the danger in this movie is not the virus, not the idiot who craves power and wants to be in charge, (By the way, they should have shot him immediately after he was discovered to crave power.)

The real threat to their survival were the cannibals.

Anyhow, I believe this is a heads-up movie. Heads-up to what it can lead to with a believe that there is a killing virus flying about and food starts to run out. People want to own guns for protection. They want gun ownership for hunting humans.

If you can just watch it for the entertainment value and not pick every little thing apart then I think you'll like it. Sometimes movies are just to simply entertain us for a little while and this movie does the trick. It's still hard to believe Bill Paxton is no longer with us and though he plays a bad guy in this he played it well as you would expect.

Sad that the cannibals killed Graydon. Wanted Briggs to stay alive. The cannibals followed Sam all the way to his colony. That's scary. I had hoped that Mason would be a good guy. But he killed most of the cannibals. Hope the survivors get to grow the seeds at the thawed-out site.

Hier erwartet den Zuschauer ein mitreißender, postapokalyptischer und zudem eisigkalter Horrortrip.
Schade das es der Film nicht in die Kinos geschafft hat. Er hätte ein Auftritt auf der großen Leinwand verdient.
Als Zuschauer kriegt man auch die ein oder andere Gänsehaut, denn die frostige Szenerie überträgt sich dank cleverer Farbfiltertechnik direkt ins Wohnzimmer. Auch die klaustrophobische Grundstimmung (gedreht wurde in einer unterirdischen, ehemligen Militärbasis) zerrt gewaltig an den Nerven.
In den ersten 45 Minuten baut der Film Atmosphäre auf und führt kurz und knackig die handelnden Personen ein.
Dann bricht die Hölle los und die Spannungsschraube zieht noch einmal gewaltig an.
Der Film ist ein eiskalter Horrorcocktail.
Er ist kurzweilig und irre spannend.
Erfrischend zudem ist die Tatsache, dass er in seiner Machart, an die Alienfilme erinnert.
Der Schauspielcast ist ausgezeichnet, denn man hat die alten Hasen Paxton und Fishburne dabei.
Aber auch Jungspund Kevin Zegers überzeugt.
Kurzum: Dieser Film ist für mich wirklich ein Überraschungshit. Ich empfehle ihn gern weiter.
