Editorial Reviews

Review

Les Coalson has obviously done extensive research
and his insights into Texas history, economy and the
current environmental issues are well worth reading.
He touches on many pressing contemporary issues,
including race relations, the euthanasia dilemma,
crime, pollution, and more. I would recommend
Color of Blood to any reader in search of a fastmoving,
contemporary and relevant suspense novel. --Olivera Baumgatner-Jackson

I adore Clay and I particularly like the way he was developed in this story. I like Mary Francis and am assuming that this will work itself out. Character development was rich and vital to the story. This was such a good read. Loved the locales as they are familiar to us Texans and enrich the narrative. For non Texans, it gives wonderful descriptions of the land and much of the history that surrounds Texas.

To be torn between one's romantic love and one's family is a situation no one is happy to be in. "Color of Blood" is the tale of Clay Aker and the conflict that tears him apart. His girlfriend is in danger from those who want to silence her testimony in a trial, and her mother must search for his lost brother and his beloved, who have vanished seemingly without a trace. All these problems, and Clay hasn't the first clue where to start! A riveting novel with many excellent twists and turns, "Color of Blood" is a great thriller sure to please fans of the genre.

Les Coalson is a master in the art of environmental thrillers. This novel set on the Texas coast brings back Clay Aker from Sever the Darkness. After his brother goes missing with his girlfriend, Clay is called back to the family farm to find out what happened to him. Another compelling read by Coalson, who should be published by a major press. His books need to be widely read.
