Anyway the secret agent side of the story wasn't really my cup of tea, wherelse I enjoyed the private interactions between the men. Basically all of them the strong and silent type, not really use to talk about their feelings, they were nonetheless able to admit they "had" feelings, and that those feelings were also scaring: they may be not scared by danger and weapons, but the hurting of the heart is something completely different. Sure, it wasn't probably too much realistic to see this big and bold men being at the mercy of their fragile heart, but this is a romance after all, and if we wanted to read about realistic secret agents, we weren't to buy a romance novels, for how much romantic thriller it can be.
The sex scene were quite hot, and, as I said, this is a choral book, even in that aspect, so there were many "pairings" happening, but now don't get me wrong, they were all between committed or soon-to-be committed couples.
So my warning is, if possible, to read the first book and then the second, and to approach this with the right perspective, to enjoy a romance, with a tinge of thriller.
What goes on along the way is that best fiends Marshal and Zander suddenly find each other more than interesting and we are off on another wildly hot developing love story snuggled in the wilds of Colorado. Until someone comes along to blow holes in everyone's lives and fill it with heat that is not romantic at all.
This one is a wild ride, full of adventure, lust and eventually, love. I am still waiting for Grant and Roger to blossom, and I have a couple of others left in the series for that to happen--maybe.
This book takes up with Grant gone dark to find his ex-lover Craig and find out why he deserted them, turned bad ( he still doesn’t quite believe he has) and most important if he ever really loved him.
Each books seems to focus on the overall operations ( one good mystery/suspense plot—the bad guy they are to take down),plus two of the guys lives ( hooking up). This one is the ongoing story of Grant plus his new maybe romance with Roger and the new attraction between Zander and Marshal.
We find out Marshall has a couple secrets, and that he is really struggling with his feeling for his best friend and co-worker Zander.
There is even more action and suspense in this one than the first and its very dramatic and nail-biting. I did have a few unanswered questions I can’t mention as it would be spoilers.
The romance in the book I really like, the angst Grant is going through, dealing with trust and his new feelings, and the mansex is really hot, but my main issue with the book was we had another straight man on the team turning gay or admitting he may be Bi. Don’t get me wrong, I did like the choice of the two and rooted for them to work it out (I won’t tell you if they do or not) you will have to see for yourself.
Overall the book is really, good. So if you like lots of suspense, action, angst, and some really steamy hot mansex, cowboys, assassin’s, close friends, friends to lovers and a good series this is definitely for you!
Rogers finally decides to let Grant know how he feels and want to live together and have a relationship.Roger is sent on his first mission to get information from Craig boyfriend to find Craig but near the time he arrives he told to come back to the ranch that Craig has been found there on ranch and had been arrested after kidnapping a team member names Marshal and setting bombs around the main house of the ranch and tried to kill some of the ranch hands.
During all this other members of the teams start to open up about relationship they are having with each other and this brings the teams closer together and makes the group stronger.
If you're looking for a book that contains lots of hot M/M sex and action packed segments that keep you riveted to the story, then this is the book for you! It's nice to read something than an atypical cowboy story and Sara York gives enough variety that you're always checking back on her for more.
