The book has introduces to each of the men and how they play off each other and working off each other they grow and learn to accomplish what ever the task that is set for them to do, but at the same time it tells a story of Grant who has fallen for a member named Craig who soon leaves and go to the dark side and start to planning the destruction of the ranch and the members. But all thru this Grant must lean and live with the pain of loosing Craig and try to keep his feeling and his duty as a member of the team separated. The a new member is introduced to the group who name is Roger and he meets Grant and shortly afterward he finds he has feeling for Grant. But he must try to prove to Grant that he has feelings and not rush Grant into a relationship while he trying to get over Craig.
Grant and two other members go on a mission and Grant runs into Craig with has blown his cover and he see that he still has feeling for Craig but at the same time Grant must look inside of himself and learn he can not be with Craig and finally admit that Craig has lied and deceived not only him but the whole team and that Craig is a danger to him and the team. And now he must start over and except that it was not his fault and he can and will one day meet a man who will show him true love and companionship.
That said; this author has a easygoing writing style with lots of dialogues so I enjoy her books very much.
The storyline is good and I'm looking forward to reading the next book because this is NOT HEA but a series. I don't mind though.
There are no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings so that makes this book very readable.
If you like m/m romance with a little action this is a great read. It's adult content.
But the blurb for this book had me confused until about a third of the way through because it started off as a potential romance for newbie Roger and long-time resident Grant, whose long-time boyfriend Craig upped and left the compound and the team without any explanation--the man Roger has replaced. Their dance was hot and heavy (though not consummated), and then all of a sudden it because Billy and Tucker's tale.
Well, I could handle that because every page on the farm and in the field was explosive and very detailed so that I wondered what was going to happen next. I found that out in the sequel, and continued on my path to a series that looks hot and hotly explosive along the way.
