The book has introduces to each of the men and how they play off each other and working off each other they grow and learn to accomplish what ever the task that is set for them to do, but at the same time it tells a story of Grant who has fallen for a member named Craig who soon leaves and go to the dark side and start to planning the destruction of the ranch and the members. But all thru this Grant must lean and live with the pain of loosing Craig and try to keep his feeling and his duty as a member of the team separated. The a new member is introduced to the group who name is Roger and he meets Grant and shortly afterward he finds he has feeling for Grant. But he must try to prove to Grant that he has feelings and not rush Grant into a relationship while he trying to get over Craig.
Grant and two other members go on a mission and Grant runs into Craig with has blown his cover and he see that he still has feeling for Craig but at the same time Grant must look inside of himself and learn he can not be with Craig and finally admit that Craig has lied and deceived not only him but the whole team and that Craig is a danger to him and the team. And now he must start over and except that it was not his fault and he can and will one day meet a man who will show him true love and companionship.
That said; this author has a easygoing writing style with lots of dialogues so I enjoy her books very much.
The storyline is good and I'm looking forward to reading the next book because this is NOT HEA but a series. I don't mind though.
There are no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings so that makes this book very readable.
If you like m/m romance with a little action this is a great read. It's adult content.
The wording and names got jumbled up but it is easy enough to figure out the errors and put right at who's doing what.
I am looking forward to Colorado Heat. I am hooked on Grant and Roger and can't wait for Grant to bring Craig down.
I loved the action and the multiple characters with a couple of relationships simmering at the same time. Billy and Tucker had a nice story - nothing like a near-death experience to bring people together! - but it is Grant's story that forms a focus.
Grant has been deserted by the man he loved, with no hint as to what went wrong but he is temped by newcomer Roger. There is a bit of cliffhanger ending and you need to read the second book to find out the end of Grant's story.
You need to suspend the disbelief that a high proportion of these elite military men are gay or bi, and just accept that Wild Bluff Ranch is a totally hot place to be!
Note: After the ending, the second book is introduced as Colorado Heat but it is actually Colorado Fire.
Plus it was also hard to believe the book was less than a dollar!
