Since they do not blend the way watercolors or oils or pastels blend, it's good to read about various techniques when you learn this medium.
The book covers topics like tape lifting of color and frisket (masking an area)--something I don't see in many of the books that focus on hyper-realism. There are a lot of chapters on various techniques, so if you are looking to branch out how you use pencils, this is a useful book.
