I tried the Wilton icing colors before these and I thought they were decent aside from the red, but clearly I had just never used good food coloring, because WOW! I'm sure there would be SOME taste if you used a ton, but I got beautiful colors without being able to detect any difference, and I've spent my entire life as the annoying person who tastes EVERY tiny change and every hint of bitterness in everything. What makes no detectable difference to someone else can make something totally inedible for me.

These also mix into the icing a lot more easily and evenly, which can make a big difference in time and effort if you're mixing up several colors by hand. And they'll last you a long time because you really do only need a tiny bit to get big results!

These gel colours aren't worth the hype in my opinion. The black isn't black at all even after using almost half the bottle. Also orange was washed out as well.

It could be that you need to use an entire bottle to get the results you need or the set I have received is defective in some way. I wouldn't buy again.
