Now that I've covered the sheath in detail, on to the knife. Being full tang, it is very sturdy and solid feeling. The pry bar at the bottom is a bit bigger than I expected and that's a good thing. I wasn't sure it would be big enough to really get leverage, but I foresee it being quite functional. The grip is ergonomic, though probably a bit small for those with bigger hands. I have small hands and it is quite comfortable for me. The serrations are nice; I cut through a cardboard box with ease and it made quick work of a rolled up towel (only things I had handy at the time). The blade was sharp out of the box, but not razor sharp. The black finish was glossy which was unexpected. In the picture it looks like more of a matte finish. This isn't necessarily a bad thing unless you are seriously concerned with glare.
Overall, I am pleased with the knife and not so pleased with the sheath. It is worth more than the price paid.
As it turns out, the Veff serrations take up 1/2 the blade on the smaller knife. they should have made them smaller
or made a non serrated blade. Don't get me wrong, it's a quality knife but this keeps it from being my go to blade.
They also could have made a better sheath.
Well right off the bat the sheath is Crap only saying that because it isnt built for this knife! The knife makes quite the racket while walking because its so loose in the plastic sheath (also makes knife dull) So what I did is pulled out the plastic and inserted a ka bar leather sheath as replacement.
Really upset about this, Everyone says its sooooo sharp right out of the box and is such a great knife well thats not the case at all with the knife I received. My knife arrived very very dull the serrated edges was also extremely dull! The handle I thought would be a rubberized but is a very hard plastic that hurts your hand if you had to hack a tree limb..
I'm sending the Knife to crkt to have them sharpen it and see if the have a softer handle...
Im not saying at all this is not a good knife. The one I received isn't a good knife..
