The M16 –SS EDC Series - A proven knife design platform made simple, made tough, and made affordable. If you are a fan of the Kit Carson designed M16 tactical folding knives you are going to want to check out these stainless steel (SS) variations. Handles are shaped and contoured in the same confident grip M16 style, but are crafted of a retro flavored stainless steel. Handles are all finished in a classic black oxide finish. These folders are available in several blade style options including cutting edge configurations, each with their own user advantages to offer. Blades also feature the Carson Flipper for quick and convenient blade actuation-and the flipper doubles as an effective blade guard in the open position. Blade lock up is secured through the traditional frame lock mechanism. The M16-SS EDC Series is a straight up, "no frills" every day carry folder design that kicks butt in pure performance and value.

After a year of owning it, the knife has held up beautifully.
It came sharp-shaving sharp
The handle is very comfortable (read the size specs, many people find it too small)
The guard design is visually attractive to me
The serrations are highly functional and are also razor sharp
The skeleton handle is lightweight and durable
My blade does have a small edge deformation from hitting something harder, but that's mostly my fault
The edges of the guard are very abrasive, so use caution if it's in your pocket and you need to get into that pocket
The chisel grind is not ideal for an EDC blade
Make sure not to pay more than $20 though, the CRKT website lists it at around $50-60, so be wary of price. At that price point, I've already gifted one to a friend and she loves it. I would absolutely purchase this knife again!
Review on Oct. 23, 2017
-Tiny knife just fit into my tiny hand, love that.
-Razor sharp out of "box" (plastic package actually). It could shave off my hair.
-Come in with a headlight, which I appreciated it but not need it.
-The frame lock is pretty stiff and difficult to release.
-Two scales have the same shape, without a cutoff on the non-locking scale, which makes it more difficult to release the frame lock.
-It is half the price of the ones from CRKT official site.
-The hole on the flipper is NOT in the center, which bcould be seen from the attached. I totally doubt about the quality of the product.
-The edges of thumbstuds (actually the stop pins) and flipper are extremely sharp. Each time when I put it into my pocket, I could feel that they are cutting cloth and my finger. They should all be chamfered, but obviously not.
-No "CRKT" logo on the clip.
-Different logo and words on blade from the ones on CRKT official website.
-Not a well-made knife. But it is cheap and could cut things. Just make some assumptions. If this is a real CRKT m16, there might be a quality control issue. If this is a counterfeit, well, 25.95 might be expensive. So, 2 stars for the good, and 3 stars for the bad and the ugly.
To be continued.
I like the night so much that once home I immediately ordered another one. I have a number of Columbia knives and they are all very well made
