With a quick pull of a zipper, these convertible pants transform into a 8.5" inseam short for all-conditions versatility. They're crafted from a lightweight yet durable nylon rip stop fabric that repels the stains associated with angling, resists harsh UV rays and dries fast so you won't get waterlogged.

One gripe I have is that the pocket isn't as deep, and the cut at the thighs are slim, hence stuff in your pockets will bulge. It could also do with a couple of pockets, including a security zip pocket. Also I prefer zippered pockets at the back as Velcro snaps aren't as secure and could easily snag on the fabric of nylon/polyester travel shirts worn with it. But then again, this is primarily an angler's pant, but nevertheless fits the bill as a traveler's or hiker's pants as well.
What I received was so perfect for what I wanted! They are comfortable, don't bind, (walked the dog on the rain just to test them), quick dry,... I am so happy with them I am ordering addition pairs!
However, the real tests will be (1) washability (if that is a real word-but you get the idea) and (2) while I am camping, hiking, kayaking, etc..... regarding functionality, construction and durability for both the material and the zippers. Fingers crossed regarding that! I hope to update this post with the results later this spring. One other thing to note: this product is also 1/3 the cost (at the time of this purchase) of the LLBean one. Another reason for the experiment.
UPDATE: 3/12/2017 - These have held up wonderfully for close to a year. Wash well (cold - no softner), dry with no issues. These have held up to dogs, agility training, yard work, kayaking, canoeing, camping, hiking, and life in general! I have since the time of the original post purchased three additional pairs (different colors) and have been pleased with the performance of all.
